How can we tell which beta version we have? Is everything automatic? The indexing, etc? Mine has updated every week but how an we be sure all is up to date? Can you tell I don't know anything about the inner workings of a computer?
Top right corner... "?" mark... click on it and then the About Logos Bible Software.LBS 4 Beta 6 (4.0.3.0831) should be the latest version.

In L4 click the ? Help at top right, then select About. The version is on the top left eg. Beta 6
In L4 go to Tools menu then select Program Settings. Everything will be automatic if you have Automatically Download Updates = Yes and Use Internet = Yes.
