Yesterday I was working on some notes and pasted some Greek text from BDAG into my Word doc. No problem. Printed fine. This morning the Greek text which is supposed to be SBL Greek is now just a series of squares.. How do I recover my Greek?
Hi Robert ~ I'm not able to reproduce this. Is it still a problem? Were any updates to Word, Logos 4, or any other program that might use that font installed since last Tuesday?

Did you check that the text is still in SBL Greek?
Yes, the text was still in SBL; but the wierd thing is, after a couple of more days, I opened the document and the Greek was back in Greek. The mysterious ways of the computer. Thanks for checking on this for me, I've had this happen before.
The problem is back. I think I was able to just attach the screen shot. I created a document yesterday for my notes for teaching last night. I copied in from Logos, today it shows up as little squares. When I click on it, you can see in the font menu in the screen shot that it is identified as SBL Greek.
I don't know if this will be helpful, but in Word Help for "The document I opened contains unexpected symbols and characters," it suggests going to Word > Preferences > Output and Sharing > Compatibility > Font Substitution, and then selecting the font that you want to replace and the font to use for the substitution. If it hasn't found a missing font, a message to that effect will come up instead of the Font Substitution dialog. There is also an option to Convert Permanently.
Also, does saving the document in the current file version rather than in compatibility mode make a difference?
The problem is back.
What font are you using? Did you save the document as a Word Document? If you saved it as text, it will lose formatting and revert to the default font.
Do you have Gentium or SBL Greek in your system? They are free downloads. If you do not have them, I will attempt to find the links.
