transferring logos 4 manually to a new computer

I am attempting to load Logos 4 on a new computer.

I down loaded the Logos 4 engine from 4 ways to install Logos, option 4.

The download involved 9 MB followed by 44 MB and an install.

I copied the resources directory containing the library to a flash drive from the original computer.

I then copied the library to the "nonsence titled" directory under resources.

When I restarted Logos I received a downloading 6.39 GB of updates.

The update was cancelled due to exceeding the file limit on Verizion wireless.

When Logos starts it is seeing the library and I can access the books.

It has run "Preparing your library" on start up.

Indexing is currently running on the laptop.

The 4 ways page states that some databases are not included in the download.

I think that the 6.39 GB update is for the 6.4 GB of library files that i copied onto the laptop.

I have talked to tech support and they recommended posting on the forum.

A DVD of Logos 4 is being sent to me via USPS.

Any suggestions?

Read the procedures Mark Barnes outlines in this thread for moving L4 from one drive to another - http://community.logos.com/forums/t/26423.aspx .

I believe his steps for putting the resources in a temporary folder and using the "scan" command in L4 may achieve what you're looking for.

That's the step that's wrong.

Instead of this, you should have typed in scan e:\folderwhereyourresourcesare in the command bar, then re-started Logos. Logos would then have copied the files over.

The question is what do you do now? If Logos is 'preparing your library'/indexing, then I would let it finish preparing, and wait for Logos to load. At that point, use the scan command and restart. Logos may get confused however, and start trying to download again. If it does, then post back here.
