No Resources Showing from Base Package

I've just installed the Bible Study Base Package from the disk. Logos has installed fine, i've logged in fine, and the SBL Greek New Testament which I downloaded to try out works fine.

I've reinstalled the application, deleted the Logos4 folder from my Library, restarted my computer, waited for updates, installed the updates, forced index, scanned for resources (from the disk, and after copying the resources from the disk to my hard drive), tried putting the resources in the resources folder.... Basically everything i can think of!

But still none of the resources from the Bible Study base package show up.

Anyone have any ideas?

Once installed, your library needs to index, which can take several hours. Once indexed the resources will show in your library. There are some great videos showing you what to expect here:

Hi Tim,

According to your account, when you purchased the Bible Study Library you ordered the DVD rather than the Unlock, so you'll have to wait until you receive the DVD, if you haven't already. Once you get the disc, insert it, click the Logos 4 icon in the Dock, and immediately hold the Cmd key down so the Sign in window appears. Click on Work Offline so that the program won't try to download your resources from our server. Once the program is finished Preparing your library, you should be able to eject the disc and restart Logos 4 normally. It will take some time to index your new resources, though.

Just tried that; the "Preparing your library" box came up and was there for a while, but then indexing only took 2 minutes, and the only resources I see is the SBL Greek New Testament (& apparatus).

Try putting the disc in the drive.

Opening Logos

typing Scan Optical Media in the command bar.

Pressing Enter/Return.

If nothing happens then quit Logos4 and restart.

If nothing happens report back here.

You have to restart Logos after you type the command. Did you do that as well?

Tim,

I know this must be frustrating for you and it being Thanksgiving, Logos is closed. If you are willing to try downloading the resources from the internet and your license is properly updated for the Logos base package purchased you can try typing "update resources" in the command box without the "".

That doesn't seem to work either... the box comes up saying "checking for updates" and the says "no updates were found"...

I assume there's some problem with the license :S I've got a serial number on the back of the DVD case, but nowhere to put that in. And the order shows up in my account, so I don't know why it's not working!

Ah, typo!

Scan Optical Media doesn't work...

After restarting Logos, a box comes up with "Preparing Your Library", noises from the disk drive suggest something is being read/copied from the disk; but after Logos starts up, indexing only lasts for 2 mins, and "Rebuild Index" works, but still only lasts 2 minutes too.

Still no resources from the Bible Study library though.

[I] Use http://biblia.com/ to check Logos sign-in account and resources associated with account - sign in - click Library icon - look # resources.

If Biblia library # is small (e.g. less than 10), suggest calling or emailing Logos customer support (Need Help section) => http://www.logos.com/support/mac

Observation: appears Biblia.com web site has same resources as Logos 4 application on iPad/iPhone (some resources not available via web).

Looking at Logos 4 Mac installation support page => http://www.logos.com/mac/support/install - noticed offline activation not supported - need an active internet connection for resource licenses.

If Biblia library has many Bible Study resources, suggest trying Wiki section for copying Logos 4 Resources to Mac OS X => http://wiki.logos.com/Quick_Installation_onto_Multiple_Macs#Copy_Logos_4_Resources_to_Mac_OS_X

Step 1 already done - have DVD

Step 6 => use Scan Optical Media instead of scan <path> command

Biblia Library shows 69 resources in my Library.

Tried following the steps; there are now about 15 resources (they look to all be morphologies) in /Users/tim/Library/Application Support/Logos4/Data/9ap497vc.olz/ResourceManager/Resources

However, they appear to finder as Unix Executable Files; where as the files which do show in my library (LOGOS4HELP.logos4, SBLGNT.logos4, and, SBLGNTAPP.logos4) show as "Logos Bible Software 4 Document" files.

I then tried rebuilding the index, with no avail. The resources still show in the resources folder as executables, and not in my Logos 4 Library.

I have saved copies of the indexer logs for both steps if that might help anyone...

If you weren't prompted to enter a Serial Number, please email the number to Logos4feedback@logos.com so we can activate it for you. DO NOT put the serial number on the forum.

Your email arrived Friday morning and the serial number has now been activated. Close Logos 4, insert the DVD, and when it is recognized, restart Logos 4.
