Prompted with login screen when opening Logos 4

This morning when I tried to open my Logos software, it wouldn't automatically open and I was prompted with a login box that has prefilled my email account and I need to enter a password. I have never seen this screen before. Is this something new in the last two weeks or so?

Hi Jeff - and welcome to the forums.

Normally - assuming Internet access - starting Logos connects up to their servers for updates, synchronisations, etc.

I get this login box when Internet access is unavailable for some reason.

Do you have normal access to the Internet at the moment?

If you do enter the password you created when registering your software, can you then login normally?

That normally appears if you hold CTRL when loading Logos. You didn't have it depressed accidentally, do you? (The password will be your normal logos.com password, by the way).

Thanks for your quick response. I wasn't hopeful of getting a response on Thanksgiving. The login dialog box occurred just after starting my computer, so it may have been in the midst of still establishing an Internet connection. Just a minute ago, I closed Logos and reopened it without any issues.

Thanks Mark. I don't think I was holding the CTRL key. Graham's response may have hit it as I had just started my computer. I have now closed and reopened Logos without getting the dialog box. I was mainly concerned it wasn't some hacker trying to capture my login information since I had never seen the screen before.

I am having a similar problem, in that whenever I run Logos 4 it asks for my login and password. Even when I login, close Logos, and reopen it right away, it needs my credentials again. Is there a way to save my login information?

Login info is normally saved by default. Can you tell us how you installed Logos, whether you had problems doing so, what OS you have? I assume you have a good internet connection?

I installed Logos by downloading the installer, and everything from the servers. I am running Windows 7 32-bit, and, yes, my internet connection is reliable. There were no issues during installation that I can remember.

Ok. Start L4 with Ctrl key and attempt to login with a blank layout. Then close L4 and upload the logs in the \Documents\Logos Log Files folder.

How many folders do you have in C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Logos4\Data? ==> set Folder Options in Control Panel to enable viewing of hidden files and folders.

There is just one folder (with hidden files and folders enabled) in my Logos4\Data directory: ymq4nbaz.lqx

You asked earlier if there were any issue during installation. I didn't have any this time. But I did previously. There were 2 times before this I tried to install Logos, and it worked fine, until it was time to index. Because it is such a resource intensive process, my computer was overheating and crashing. Needless to say, that has been fixed and this final install indexed just fine. The only issue is not saving the login, which is just an inconvenience.

Is it worthwhile to upload the log file without the blank layout?

Post a screen shot of the sign-in box and also upload the logs after signing on.

I've seen this on Macs a few times, but never yet on Windows, so I don't know the solution, sorry. If Technical Support can't help, let us know.
