Bible Search - ranges disappearing

All the standard ranges are lost when I create a Custom Range (for a Bible Search) on my Windows 7 (64-bit) laptop. Following the same steps on my Windows XP desktop works flawlessly.

Steps to create the problem:

1. Choose Bible Search from the Search menu.

2. In the Bible Search dialog, click the Custom button.
The Custom Ranges dialog opens, with no entries shown in Bible ranges.
(The Win XP machine does show the ranges.)

3. In the Custom Ranges dialog, click New.

4. In the New Range dialog, enter something like this:
Name: Prophets
Range: Isa-Mal
Click Ok for the New Range dialog, and then Ok for the Custom Ranges dialog.

Back in the Bible Search dailog, the only choices in the Range drop-down now are "Prophets" and "Special", i.e. the standard ranges are lost. Opening the Custom dialog and clicking Restore Defaults brings back the standard ranges, but naturally destroys the custom ranges.

If I click Restore Defaults between steps 2 and 3, the standard ranges do show in the Bible Ranges list, and then clicking New adds the new range.

What have I done wrong? (I am using some custom file locations.)

Delete the file C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Libronix DLS\Library\Preferences\LDLS\CustomRanges.lbxprf and try again.

When I delete the file, the Custom Ranges dialog populates correctly.

Unfortunately, adding one range re-creates the file, and then the dialog fails to populate when I try to create a 2nd custom range.

Something else is going on: the contents for the dialog seem to be cached somewhere else than this XML file. If I edit the file to replace one of the ranges with a different one, it still loads the ones it remembered, not what's specified in the file. For example, I added (through the interface):

<value name="Prophets">bible.23-39</value>

checked that it worked, and then edited the XML file to replace that line with:

<value name="Johannine">bible.64 bible.83-85 bible.87</value>

When I open Logos again, it populates with Prophets, not Johannine.

It would be interesting to know if anyone else is experiencing this issue on Win7 (64-bit.)

Allen, tell me what is custom about your installation and what version you used to install FIRST in Win7 and your current version.

Do you have anything related to Libronix in C:\Users\<Allen>\AppData\Local\VirtualStore?

Initial install was Logos Scholars (ND) version 3.0e from CD-ROM. Now updated to 3.0f.

Resources are installed to C:\Logos and subfolders (e.g. C:\Logos\PBB), but the Resource Paths still includes C:\Program Files (x86)\Libronix DLS\Resources

Under Power Tools Options | User Files = C:\Data\Libronix DLS

There are some other customizations, e.g. a default workspace (opens 4 key resources), a custom style for Copy Bible Verses, a custom toolbar (my favorite resources), and a pretty sizable tree on the Favorites menu (e.g. O T Commentaries | Pentateuch | Genesis.) 6 activated products + 11 unlocks.

The VirtualStore folder contains only:
Program Files (x86)\WS_FTP\WS_FTP.ini
ProgramData\NVIDIA\NvStarted

There are probably some IE8 customizations too, e.g. compatibility mode is off, Enable 3rd party browser extensions is off, search from address bar is off, Java is off.

Re Windows, UAC is off, language is Australian English, etc.

In another thread, someone else reported they don't have this problem, so it's probably to do with my settings somewhere. Thanks anyway.
