Is Beta 7 slower?

Is anyone having issues with things like: clicking on a menu item, changing TABS within a Tile or any other actions seeming slower (ie- much slower) in this Beta?

A few Betas ago - everything seemed to be flying. Now, I am thinking I need a new laptop (which I do anyway) because everything is moving much slower.

Yes, thought it was just me. Even noticed a difference on my quad-core.

It could be the laptop. Does opening Parallel Resource sets seem slower as well?

Running Beta 7 under XP on a Mac Pro with Parallels 5. To me, this is the fastest release of L4 yet. PRAs are almost instant, especially after the first time. Cited by is instantaneous, and so are tabs. In short, I am very pleased with the response of B7.

I checked on my netbook, Parallel Resource seem to be the quickest ever, but like Ron, clicking on a menu item, as well as first book opening, seems quite delayed when compared to previous releases.

I've found first opening to be fairly subjective with a number of releases on my laptop, but at least you notice the improvement with PRS. You might do a disk cleanup and defragment, even exclude the \Logos4 folder from your anti-virus real-time scanner.

I agree about the first opening, speed does improve after a defrag. But on my quad core, Win 7, 64 bit machine, menu response has always been very snappy, until this latest release. And like I said earlier I thought it was just me, so in my attempts to fix the issue I have already attempted more than you suggested.

The only other change has been a few Pre-Pubs that have shipped recently, and downloaded. But I've never had a new resource effect the performance of menu selection in the past, so...

The Parallel Resource sets ARE faster. They had been for me in the previous release as well, but this is a bit faster.

If I click on: My Library, or try to type in the search box on that Tab, it has been slow. I did some clean up of Temp files and old programs that I don't use anymore. My defrag is set to run once a week. Sounds from the responses that it is my computer. It has been running hot so maybe the CPU is stressed. I have started using one of these laptop coolers that cool the bottom of the laptop with a USB powered fan. That may be helping as there has been some improvement in the last two days since I started using it. This version though is not as fast as one of the earlier ones - at least on my machine.
