How can I reference a clipping for future study?

Is there a way to tag clippings so that in future studies on a similar topic Logos will direct me back to something i have already saved as a clipping? As an example, i was recently reading a book on prayer, and there was a section on prayer in Second Temple Judaism. I saved it as a clipping, but would love to have it show up, perhaps in the passage guide under "My Content", if in the future I do a study on Judaism? I tagged it both "prayer" and "Judaism" in the clipping, but that didn't bring it back up when I did a homepage search for Judaism.

It should work. I was just playing with it, and it seems there is some delay between when you add the tag and when it will show up in a search. It took about five minutes for me just now after I added the "pancakes" tag below, but it does work.

I just have to say that, for me, this is huge! One of my theology professors was a chronic cross-referencer. He had a card-catalogue that would rival small libraries, all filled with cards that he had painstakingly filled out, cross-referencing subjects, verses, and quotations. To be able to read through books and set up this cross-referencing with multiple tags is invaluable to me!!

This got me thinking that you could use the clippings tags to link multiple verses to a single note. Havn't played around with it enough to find out where it falls short. You could created a Cross Reference highlighting, apply it to all the verses or phrases that you cross reference as a tag, and that way have a visual cue that it is a part of a clipping now. Then highlight it and the explorer window will update to the verse you highlight.

This would have the added benefit, minus the highlighting of working across versions.

I've been playing around with this more and there is a lot of potential here. I turned the Quotation section into a section for keywords. That way if I'm ever doing a search for one of the Keywords it will show up in "my content." I think you can do the same concept with a regular note file. Simply type out the references in the body of the note and it will show up in "My content." However I like the way Clippings allows for organizing the note. I wish the tags were hyperlinks to the verse they reference, though.

Why don't you put the references in the content of the clipping instead? Then they will be hyperlinks.

I really wish Logos would let us create blank clippings so we could paste our own content in.

It seems to me that sooner or latter tags are going to become more organized, at least I hope they do. The hyperlinking is really a small deal to me. Its easy enough to just type the reference I want in the command box. Beside, if I carry out my idea all the references will be hyperlinked in the note section.

As far as a blank clipping goes, since almost everything in the clipping is editable I can just create a clipping, delete everything, and input what I want to.

Yeah but it still has the title of the resource you clipped from next to it, plus a link to it. I'd like a clean display.

It takes the Document Manager (in the software) at least 3 minutes to redo the documents index in \Logos4\Documents\{random user name}\Documents for searches!
