Adding words to Biblical Text - Highlighting feature

In Libronix I was able to make my own amplified Bible.  I created a style that I named Amp A.  I would then type the words I wanted to follow the Biblical word. 

example "the Word was with God" {face to face}

The next time I wanted to do that I simply changed the name of the style to Amp B; etc... and then attached the new words to a new verse.

example: darkness did not comprehend {overcome, overpower, neutralize}

The old text remained the same and still reads {face to face} and the new phrase is attached. 

In Logos 4,  if I do that it changes the previous words to the the new amplification.

It now reads "the Word was with God {overcome, overpower, neutralize}

I have tried deleting Amp A after I have used it but it deletes the words "{face to face} also. 

I do not want a long list of styles that would be made with every amplification, etc...  Is there a way to delete a style without having the places you added it deleted also?

In L4 if you change or delete a highlighting style you have created, it will automatically delete or change all the text in your resources that have had that style applied. I know of no way around that. So I guess the short answer to your question is you would have to create the list of styles you want to apply.

If it helps, once you have a style created, you can simply right-click on the original style (e.g. Amp) and click duplicate style. Each time you do that L4 will create a new style in that palette and automatically rename it in numerical sequence. (e.g. Amp (2), Amp (3), Amp (4), etc.)
