Gottingen Septuagint and Logos 4?

G'day,

could someone please help a new user of logos...I don't know how to get this particular resource onto Logos 4...the CD that came was for Libronix, and it did work on that program. But I can't seem to find out how to install L3 resources into L4...I checked the forum, and found this: type into command line

scan C:\where ever my L3 files are stored

However, L4 wants to just search, not recognising this as a command.

I just want my new LXX on L4.

the way I do these cd resources in Logos is

1.) Place the cd into cd drive

2.) Open Logos

3.) In the command bar type "scan optical media" (I typically wait 15 - 20 seconds. This may or may not have any point)

4.) Close down Logos

5.) Reopen Logos and listen for it scanning the optical media! Files should be transferred or trigger the remote download.

If the resource's license has not been unlocked from Logos' end to your account then a call or e-mail to Logos with serial # (if available) will be in order.

Peter ... Paul's answer is correct. But if you're running L3 AND L4, all that you'd need to do after you load L3 is synchronize your licenses (which normally occurs in the resource install; else Tools > Library Mgmt > Synchronize Licenses). Then the next time you run L4, it downloads automatically. I got Gottingen on the CD; loaded into L3 with a synchronize licenses, and then L4 brought it in automatically. I operate with L4 turned off the internet, so I have to re-start L4 after turning the internet option back on.

Thank you for both responses...but nothing seems to be working. However, maybe I have discovered a possible reason...which I will investigate through customer care (I think maybe my L3 user ID is different to that of my L4 - as L3 used to use your e-mail address, but when I updated the e-mail adress to my current one, it still keeps the same old e-mail address as your user ID)...any thoughts before such a long distance ph call?

I don't see it showing any more on the new web site, but it used to be, and I suspect still is, that our unique account identifier is the email address we signed up with. If you change your email address, that changes your email address but not you account ID! When the newsgroups were around, there was a big discussion about concerns regarding this. Someone else will know if this has changed, but for sure I would try using your L3 user ID in L4. After all, the resource licenses need to sync between the two, etc., they need to be the same account. With Logos 4 you can easily log on as someone different by holding the Control key when you bring up Logos, don't let it up until you see the sign on screen.

Try it and see if it clears up your problem!
