Cannot install Logos 4 on XP - windows error

I'm trying to install my copy of Logos 4 on my office computer, but when I double click the 'logos4setup.exe', I get the following error message:

The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000005). Click on OK to terminate the application.

The message actually occurs twice - I click the "ok" button and it brings up the same box again. My DEP settings are set to: 'essential Windows services and programs only', so I don't think that is the issue.

No luck. I tried the suggestions from the updatexp.com site, as well as the suggestion about disabling startup items using msconfig.exe. I tried disabling ALL startup items under this method, and also tried booting into safe mode. Still get the same error.

There are some weird solutions including a DEP fix and one for Sound Blaster drivers! If it only occurs when you try to run logos4setup.exe I would have a word with one of your computer technicians eg. can you install programs?

As stated above, I went through the DEP check. Also, I checked my sound card drivers - I'm using a Creative Xi Fi soundcard - Windows says the drivers are the most current. I downloaded a registry repair tool - it found over 1200 errors, and fixed them all - same problem still occurs though. I have had no problems installing other software. Unfortunately, b/c I work in a church, we do not have a dedicated IT person I can just go next door and ask.

I just tried downloading the beta installer RC2 from http://downloads.logos.com/LBS4/InstallerBeta/Logos4Setup.exe and it too did not work, but gave me a different error message:

Logos Bible Software 4 Setup has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

I have the usual options of "Debug", "Send Error Report", and "Don't Send". I tried sending the error report, but I doubt that will do much.

Some fundamentals - you need Windows XP SP3.

If you do have SP3 then upload the files that are in your \temp\Logos Log Files folder. If that folder does not exist then enable permanent logging, run the beta installer, and upload the files in \My Documents\Logos Log Files

Got it to work today ... though I'm not sure why. I did a search for any file on my computer that had "logos" in the filename, and deleted all that related to this product. There were 6 or so files, mainly due to the fact that I had downloaded the installer a couple of times using a download manager, Download Accelerator Plus (DAP). Then I downloaded the file from the Logos download link, without using DAP, and it worked fine.
