Will there be a way to turn this off ?
It should "fade away" over a couple days, moving further and further down your list of home page content before disappearing.
Just FWIW on the first run on my machine it was not in first place. It was already 1/2 way down the first page. It really should have been Top and left to begin with.

I want it to just disappear after a few days (like now). A welcome message on the 5th page is strange....
Yes I agree. Of course, I may have forfeited my right to give my opinion on this matter since I never use the home page. I wish it was useful for me, but it seems targeted at a narrow audience.
