Illustration help needed !

I don't know if it is possible, but it would be really cool if on my passage guide I had a section that linked to my passage with relevant sermon illustrations. Kinda like the music section has relevant, music for the passage, it would be real helpful to have a section dedicated to illustrations..

What Rosie replied sounds just about right. That's a feature that will be coming sometime next year. Trust me Blair, you're not the only one who's yearning for this feature (Illustration section). That's why I still have Libronix installed in my laptop. Besides, I'll be learning how to do PBB on libronix soon, so I don't think I'll do away with libronix completely.

Another way you could do this currently in L4 is make a collection of all your resources that have Illustrations in them. For example, here's the rule for mine:

title:illustrations OR subject:"homiletical illustrations"

And here's what it contains:

Now do a Basic search in that collection for the passage of interest, enclosed in angle brackets (that will make Logos look for any references that overlap that verse reference, even if what you're looking for isn't explicitly mentioned in the text). For example:

Using that string to create a collection, 5 books in my library were put together. Searched for my passage <colossians 2> and came up with 1 result. I searched online, and found a couple free websites that had illustration help, but the majority of them wanted to charge. For anyone interested

Hmmmm.....I did a quick search too. I only have 7 resources. This is way I am buying the Preacher's Collection. I has a few more illustration books within it.

Sometimes people make bargains with whomever they feel offers them the greatest advantage. The relationship chosen might be terribly harmful, as was Aung San’s bargain with the Japanese, but they feel the temporary advantage is worth it. The devil is always ready to strike a bargain. He knows his power, even if those who deal with him do not. He will accept our delay in accepting Christ if he can’t convince us to disown him. He will encourage us to give up one sin to assure our continued involvement in others. He will settle for our occasional doubt about God’s love since he is unable to turn us into atheists. But make no mistake. Satan hates God and vilifies Christ in order to exalt himself, and he knows the increasing power of his persuasion once he is allowed to persuade. No bargain struck with him will ever harm him or help us.

I would also add any devotionals you might have to that string. I set up a collection of illustrations AND devotionals for this very purpose. I have found some great illustrations in my devotionals. God bless.

I believe we can already do this... (Just tested it in 4.2 RC2.)

Make the collection named Illustrations, as others have described.

In your MPG (My Passage Guide), left-click on the 'Add' button (upper RH corner of the pane.)

Left-click on Collections.

Hover over that line in the MPG so you can see the Settings button, then left-click on Settings.

Under settings, left click on your Illustrations collection.
