I upgraded to release code of 4.0b (4.10.4.7689) yesterday.
Today I notice there is a problem with the Information panel. Some others have also reported but I will go into more detail. The issue is reproducible on two installations I have of Logos - Mac Pro and Macbook. The issue escalates (reproducibly) to Logos becoming non-responsive.
- Do new load of Logos 4
- Type '1 John 4:7' in Go window
- Logos comes up in standard layout with Information window on top right. (Information window setting was on standard option 'Update information on - hover' but after these issues I changed it to 'click').
- With click enabled click on word "victory" (ESV text) and info window contents come up reasonably soon
- Click on more detailed word like "testimony" - Information window takes quite a bit longer to come up
- Click on word 'God', Information window shows spinning wait animation. It keeps on showing it, content does not come up.
- At this point Logos is still functional
- After 1-2 minutes still nothing showing in Information window, get frustrated and click on close 'X' of Information window.
- Result is OS X beach ball, very high CPU usage (see screenshot, no other apps running), Logos non-responsive.
- Need to force quit Logos.
Steps above consistently reproducible on both machines so unlikely is corruption in either resources or indexes.
Seems that when a word is selected (for example 'God') which has many resources that are being queried/loading into Information panel Logos has problems getting all info. Then while it is stuck doing that task it does not cleanly register command to close the Information panel and hangs.
(If you cannot reproduce this behaviour I can post logs, but I believe you will see issue directly)
