search for interrogative sentences or clauses in NA27

This morning I wanted to find all the places where Paul writes interrogative sentences (or clauses) based on grammar. The interrogative marker (;) is later obviously but the grammatical words should show this. But I was surprised using Greek Morph search that I could not just click the Interrogative options that are under Pronouns, Particles, and Conjunctions and then add them to the search box. When I click "Add to search" nothing happens. Why won't this work? What do I need to do to get this?

Under Bibles I have NA27 and under Morphology I have Greek Morph (Gramcord)

Ross,

You're one step away [:)]. You also need to select "conjunction," "pronoun," and "particle" in the morphological search box. Then choose the "interrogative" option under each section, and then "add to search". The query will treat the different choices as OR's, so: interrogative conjunction OR interrogative pronoun OR interrogative particle. Here's a screenshot of what it will look like. Restricting the search to Paul's letters, I get 170 results.

Sorry, my mistake. I expected that it would automatically check the boxes up top where I had checked the sub items (interrogatives) below. Thanks.

But I wonder if there is a better way to get at this data on interrogatives? I got 178 hits by using the particle, pronoun and both conjunction options, but this is missing the sentences that are judged by NA27 to be questions based only on context, e.g. Rom 2.22, etc. So I tried searching on the GK question mark, ";" but no luck so far; I haven't been able to get it to find these verses. This would give the broadest selection. As it is even with 178 hits, I know that all Paul's questions are not represented. Punctuation has only two options: minor (= ",") and major (="." , ";" and "the GK semicolon equiv.). Any ideas?

There does not seem to be any way to do that, which surprises me. For some reason, it is not possible to search for the semi-colon. You can use "Find" (Ctrl+F), and it will locate semi-colons, but that doesn't give you a list of references like search results. I've tried bible searches, morphological searches, and syntax searches, and none of them allow you to specify the semi-colon in a search. [:(]. Perhaps someone else knows a way?

Syntax Search offers an alternative via Lexham Syntactic GNT:

Word 1: Syntax Notes = { interrogative adverb, interrogative
particle, interrogative pronoun }

You also need to search (separately) on Morphology:-

Word 1: ((Part of Speech = adverb AND Adverb Type =
interrogative) OR (Part of Speech = particle AND Adverb Type = interrogative) OR
(Part of Speech = pronoun AND Pronoun Type = interrogative))

Then combine these results with NA27 results!

It'a all very subjective or somebody had a bad day coding interrogatives!

PS. v3 does not allow a search on punctuation characters!

Correct, L3 and L4 will not search on punctuation characters. You have to rely on the offerings of morphology or semantics.
