Customizable "GO" button...

Can you please allow us to customize the "GO" button. Every time I click "GO", the first thing I always do is rearrange the windows and close a few of the bibles that I don't really use.

These are the the two things I'm specifically looking for:

 

• Customize what opens. For example, I usually want a custom passage guide to run, and most of the time I don't need the exegetical guide, so it would be nice to be able to turn that off and just open it later if I need it. I also don't need all 5 of my top bibles to open. I usually close all but two right away.
• Customize Layout. For example, I want my bibles to open on top of my Passage guide (Like the passage guide opens on top of the Exegetical Guide), instead of in the tiny upper right hand corner of the screen. I usually move them right away every time to make room to read the bible on the left and the commentary on the right.

Hi Ryan, you are not alone in wanting this. It has been requested before, and hopefully Logos will give us a way to have the Go button open a custom layout that we've created for the purpose.

In the meantime, here are a couple of options for you to get closer to what you want:

1) Create a custom passage guide and name it My Passage Guide. This will be the one that opens from the Go button. It will still have all the other windows open that you might not want, but at least the PG that opens will be exactly the one that you want.

2) Even better: create a Layout that has the custom passage guide and two top bibles open and arranged the way you want them. Set both Bibles and the Passage Guide on the same Link Set. Then save the Layout. Now whenever you want to do this kind of study, open that Layout (if it isn't open already) and type the passage you're studying into the Reference box of one of the bibles. All the other tabs will jump to the same reference and you'll be all set up the way you want to. It's as if you'd gotten there via the Go button and then closed all the stuff you didn't want. If you use this method, you really don't need to use the Go button at all anymore. In my opinion, that is just a beginner tool to get people started before they've learned how to create their own layouts.
