How do I know what has been downloaded?

From time to time I see that Logos 4 is downloading something, and then I have to install something, and then something in my library is indexing...but how do I know what that something is?

I regularly read the Logos Blog and they tell me that I have the SBLGNT or the Lexham Interlinear LXX coming, which I LOVE (Logos is like the gift that keeps on giving). BUT I would like to know how to find out what new gifts I have been given so I can begin using them. Any ideas?

Gifts are few and far between, but you can see what resources have been updated starting in Logos 4.2 by going to the Library pane, setting your view to line-by-line (not book cover) view, right clicking on one of the column headings and selecting "Last Updated" which will add that column to your Library. At first it will not show anything, but as items are updated, their update date will show. You can sort by that column to see what was most recently updated.

Thanks for your reply. It was very helpful and exactly what I was looking for.

But now I have a new question. Is there a way to determine what the newly downloaded updates (that are not books) do for me? For example, I think a new update made it possible to print some new texts that I could not previously print and there have been some other updates. Is there a comprehensive list somewhere that tells me what I have that's new and different?

When a software upgrade is downloaded there will be a posting on the wiki listing what has been added , corrected, or changed. You can see the list here: http://wiki.logos.com/Logos_4_Release_Notes

For resources, Logos is trying to keep us up to date on what is being updated. One example of this effort is also on the wiki: http://wiki.logos.com/Resource_Update_History

Sometimes databases and Logos 4 tools are updated. Checking the Logos 4 forum periodically is the best way to learn about these.

Thanks for the compliment Gary, but there are lots of folks who know more than I do. To answer your question, I've seriously used Logos since Series X came out. I think that was around 2003?? I first bought a computer (back in the early 90's) just to be able to use something called CDWord Library which Logos eventually bought. So I've been using some sort of computer aided Bible study program for awhile. I just like Logos and appreciate what it has enabled me to do and how it has helped others I know.

One new one that was not part of the equation when Mark wrote his first reply is that in the brand new 4.2a beta series, Logos now has a link on the home page that will tell you what updated and will provide a weblink to the new update information.

This is a dream come true for many Logosians (<- new word, do you like it?)

Alleluia!!! What about a note in My Logos messages, saying such and such an update is coming up and giving a link to the wiki page? Maybe if My Logos Messages goes to everyone, the note could mention that it's a Logos 4 update?

Thomas, the truth is the download (4.20.4.7970) I recevied today does not have this feature.

That's because you're running the regular version. The feature in question is in the new beta which at the moment is 4.21.4.8209 AKA 4.2a Beta 2
