I hadn't realized that this was still an issue, but I just tried to copy and paste (search this resource) from the ESV...our now famous test phrase, "look out for the dogs, look out for the evildoers" and typing it works just fine (0.08 seconds!) but when you highlight/right click the phrase in the ESV which has superscripted letters indicating notes...you get those copied also...
