Hello,
Is there a way to, say, pull up "everything God gave David" with Logos 4?
Thanks!
I don't understand.
Maybe it's the blizzard outside my window... or I'm tired. Or both.
Lol, that's funny. I was thinking more along the lines of a "smart extraction", kind of like a question analyzer and research response...
Any ideas?
Thanks.
Logos isn't that smart, yet.
The closest we could get is a syntax search where YHWH (or an equivalent title/name) is serving as the subject of a verb of giving. Then we could search on the sections of the OT that deal with the life of David. This search could give us a list of clauses where God explicitly gives something.
This search would fall short when a pronoun was given as the subject of a verb or the subject was left implied in the verb.
Logos is working on disambiguate pronouns but that's a work that'll probably take a long time to come out.
So, right now the best approach might be to simply look up give and received etc. and then sort through the Biblical text taking notes.
Lol, that's funny
Kevin's advice is straight on. But I couldn't help but add that for THIS case: 2 Samuel 12:7-8 is a pretty powerful section.
