Handouts lose formatting/graphics/eye candy upon "print/export" choice.

I haven't played with the handouts much but there are some really nice looking styles....
I made one up...chose "print/export" and found that all of the jazzy formatting was lost....
Did anyone notice this?

Robert,
This has been a problem for a few months (for me). I've noticed, however, there is a big difference in the formatting if you hit "Print" to the right of the Reference/Keyword box. When clicking on that, I have the formatting left in tact. I'm guessing you're going to the resource panel and selecting the Print/Export (CTR+P)....which then loses its formatting. Hope that workaround works for you as it does for me.
In my opinion, this is an area that has a nice upside for creating on-the-fly content, but has a long way to go till it reaches "primetime".

What format were you exporting to? Some wouldn't be able to support this level of detail and others would probably be hard to export in any meaningful way that would preserve editability.
I would imagine exporting to xps would preserve this formatting.

Kevin and Mitch...
Just pushing the print button allows me to print right to a PDF...and the formatting stays...but I can't seem to get anything but page 1 to print...
When using the print/export in ANY format including XPS...I get this plain-jane version.

When printing handouts this graphic tells it like it is:
The Green circled print is the one designed for handouts, it SHOULD print all the pages. I'm not sure why you're only getting one page Robert, it probably has something to do with duplexing settings (?) On my system I get a dialog asking me to flip the paper over and put it back in the printer - even for PDF's. I simply click OK and I get a second PDF printed.
if you print/export from the panel menu you will not get the WYSYWYG sheet, you'll get just the ordered items on the left side of the handout tool.
Sarcasm is my love language. Obviously I love you.

Thomas...
that helped....and thanks for the tip on hitting the "ok" on the duplexing question, I was pushing cancel.
Boy if only SOMEONE would speak up for some improvements on these handouts....hmmmm

Yeah well they do tend to get me frustrated because I want to use them - a lot. But since Bob said they were planning a redesign I'm willing to hold my peace and watch and wait.

I agree with you Thomas. I would like to see them reworked as well.

I need some help here. How do I get the "print" button to appear on the bar? When I dock or float the panel for the ESV or the ESV Study Bible, I don't see it. I really would like to maintain the presence of graphics and images when I export for bible studies.
I just realized I have posted this in the PC Beta area. I'm not using a beta. Is this button available in the beta version only?
Here's the screen shot:

The print button on the bar is in the handouts feature (File>>Handouts).
Printing for regular resources is in the current gold release of L4 so no beta needed. Just click the panel menu (Book icon) and find it in the list.

I understand, but the thing is, using the Export/Print feature for exporting, I can't get the graphics to print, such as the one in the screenshot above. If I specifically right-click the graphic, and then paste, I can get it, but not with the export feature. Solutions?

Different methods of printing/exporting give slightly different results (which is a bit confusing, frankly). This video may help a little: http://www.vimeo.com/17178004
