This should prove an interesting test case for L4 on fully-up-to-date hardware and a 64-bit O.S. Assuming you install L4 right away and haven't changed much else about it "as delivered", let us know how it performs.

I'd increase the RAM to at least 6, if I were you (and my budget allowed). Buying it with your system is probably the least expensive way to do it, and you can be pretty certain that it will be the correct type of RAM for your machine. Win7 64bit can take full advantage of all that RAM and more.

The SSD drive will be fast, but it's not very big. It is definitely big enough for L4, but I have twice that (256GB) already full on my 700 GB drive, after about a year and a half. I'd suggest not putting a lot beside L4 on it (media files, e.g., can take up a lot of space very quickly).

I will be using system solely for sermon and writing. Logos / Word / Evernote / Powerpoint maybe / Outlook maybe/ Internet research / and library cataloging software. No pics, music, videos, etc... (I have an iPad for that). This is why I thought I could get away with only 128gb.

I was unsure about video card, but that was the largest they offered on this system....

Well...I wouldn't stress on it then....it might work just fine...but...i'd definitely get 6 gb of ram. (depending on your finances) you have to look to the future and 4 gb machines are not "the stuff" anymore....most of my friends who are tech heads who buy machines these days have 6 to 8 gb of ram.

Ditto on upping the RAM. Although it can be less expensive sometimes doing it yourself if you're comfortable. You've got to search around for the best prices, and also make sure there are available memory slots on your laptop (otherwise you forfeit the 4GB you bought and replace it with your new module).

My laptop Geforce Go 7300 is Class 4 and ranked 220! But it handles Logos4 OK, so don't worry about Class 3.

Well I purchased the above computer. It is very fast. However after a week of using Logos, it (logos) now is very sluggish. Scrolling (which was perfect a week ago) is now very slow and for me almost unusable. I haven't loaded any programs except word, firefox, safari, evernote and sugarsync. Nothing else is on the computer. All those programs open in a flash as did Logos, but now it will barely scroll. Any suggestions?

How often do you reboot the laptop? (I know I often let mine go for days without rebooting.)

Another thing to do is to use CCleaner to clean out the temp files, and other 'junk' (find CCleaner at CNet - a 'known safe' download site).

And along with Dave, I'd wonder if you installed and/or upgraded anything in the last week.

I have rebooted. I added itunes but then deleted it. I deleted two layouts and the other layouts seem to work now (which they were very slow prior) so maybe it is fine... thanks for the feedback
