While reading Philip Comforts notes on John 7:53-8-11 I came across the phrase in bold below:
John 7:53–8:11 (the pericope of the adulterous woman)
This portion is included in the NU text, albeit in double brackets. It should be excluded outright and printed in the critical apparatus as a variant reading, or it could be placed as an appendix (as in WH). The manuscript evidence supporting the exclusion of this passage is overwhelming: P39vid P66 P75 א Avid B Cvid L N T W D Θ Ψ 0141 0211 33 ita,f syrc,p,s copsa,bo,ach geo Diatessaron Origen Chrysostom Cyril. The papyri, P66 and P75, have all the more affirmed that this passage was not part of the original text of John. I think it can also be said that P39 did not include this passage (see the extended excursus at the end of this chap.). Documentary testimony is against the inclusion of this passage, as well as a host of internal arguments, all of which are discussed in my textual commentary.12
Note 12 says that this resource is "forthcoming" by Tyndale.
