I'm pretty sure that I'm going to pre-order this DVD series (The I-Beam of Message Building). I'm just wondering if anyone happens to know how close it is to being released?

I ordered it when it was announced; but I don't think there has been any information released regarding an estimated ship date. I would not think it would be too long a wait though.
You could just go ahead and order the booklet from Morris Proctor. The booklet is the same material he presents on the DVD. Of course, I'd rather watch the explanation, than to read it. I have the booklet and I know the DVDs will be much better. One thing though, the booklet will come with the DVD, so there will be no credit/refunds issued if you purchase the booklet now and the DVD later.
So... not much response here. Has anyone actually received the DVD or book and used them? I would like to know what you think?

I have ordered it, and have waited patiently for its arrival - and waited - and waited - and waited......A little birdie informed me it shouldn't be too long. Morris has done his part - the hold up is on the LOGOS end. I have decided not to pre-order anything else until this arrives. Just figured I weigh in and let you know you weren't alone in wanting this resource.

I ordered it because I have attended a past CampLogos and really enjoy Morris' instructional style.
Having this resource gets more of my senses involved in learning. Not only am I seeing the material in the workbook, but I will see Morris via DVD and hear the instruction - learning in layers, so to speak.
I also ordered this for the same reason I try to read at least two new books specifically on preaching every year. The goal is to continually improve as a communicator.
I heartily agree with you on that. I haven't been able to go to a seminar since the spring right before L4 came out. He is very clear and thorough, step-by-step, in his style. And he certainly has a passion for preaching.

What specific works have been most influential on your preaching--and are any of them in Logos?
I don't know, but why do I get the feeling that some of the procedures will be similar to the inductive Bible study manual.
Look at this:
The Inductive Bible Study Manual has:
Flying over the text: Reading the text
Diving: Kneading the text
Take out: Heeding the text
Now the I-Beam Manual has:
Illumination - which would be synonymous with Flying over the text (Reading the text)
Investigation - which is another way of saying Diving: Kneading the text AND
Imitation - which is the obvious for Take out: heeding the text.
I think that maybe the difference between the two manuals is that one only tells you how to study the Bible and the other one tells you how to study the Bible and how to create sermons and deliver them. I sure would like to get it to find out.
By the way, I also like MP's way of explaining things. He's so easy to follow and understand. He truly has a public speaking gift to share information in a clear way. I will think about this new DVD and will probably pre order it with a credit card so it won't be so hard on the wallet when it comes out.

Agreed. Although Don's book is third on my list behind Haddon Robinson's Biblical Preaching and Bryan Chappel's Christ Centered Preaching.
Alliteration confuses communication. It only is impressive to other preachers who like it. And honestly, most lay people laugh at it when it gets overly noticable, illustrative illiteration in immanent invitations.
All that said, Morris Proctor is a great teacher of Bible software.
Alliteration is great, but only for some sermons here and there. To use it every Sunday can get pretty boring, especially when it's forced. I've seen some of John G. Butler's alliterated "sermons" and some he's just really pushing it a little too much with his choice of words...like: "The perspiration in going..," LOL or "The Food is Good when you're in the Mood."
Oh well, whatever works to get the message across.
