Offline Resource: Unable to download resource LLS:40.170.11

I keep getting this error.

I've downloaded the latest iPod app version, restarted my wireless network, restarted my iPod Touch.

The error occurs as soon as I try to download "Reckless Faith..." by John MacArthur.  Each time I start the app, it tells me I need to update this resource.  Perhaps 5 seconds into the update, I get the "Offline resource: Unable to download resource LLS:40.170.11" error popup.

Help!

I get the same error on several resources, including the McArthur one you mention and several Ashland journals. I have mentioned it in several threads and so far gotten no help. Good luck.

I'm also seeing this error with several individual issues of different theological journals.

  • Also experienced error message - noticed WiFi connection had disappeared - learned iPad connectivity could be improved by increasing Brightness and changing Auto-Lock to Never.  Alternative for increasing Brightness is connecting iPad to AC adapter.

However, trying to download 1000 Bible Images for offline now crashes Logos 1.5.2 (43662) application after many minutes (consistently) - wish for iTunes option to copy resources from Logos 4 library to iPad for offline use.

    Keep Smiling [:)]

To clarify: in my case the wireless connection was operating just fine. I could download other journals, but returning to the specific journals that would not download trigger a repeat of the same error message.  I tried restarting the iPad - to no avail.

Also, not sure if there is any correlation, but in two of the cases, I had opened the text (from the remote server) first -- and could view it, then closed that text and attempted to subsequently mark it for offline use when it would then fail.

Looks like I had gotten disconnected from logos.

Had to go into logos/settings and sign in again.

I don't know if this is related to others' problems expressed here but a while back bought BDAG then suffered a financial glitch that forced me to retrench and call customer service for a refund. There must have been some residual information on my iPod Touch because I started getting warnings about offline downloading of BDAG and a couple other resources. I called tech support today and was told the best way to fix it is to remove Logos from the iTouch, re-download, and sign in with my email and password. Other users in this thread may have different problems but so far that seems to have fixed my problem. It took a little time going through my library specifying which resources I wanted to use offline but it wasn't as tedious as I had expected, although I suspect for a while I'll be discover more books I want to use offline.

This afternoon I upgraded to the latest version of the iPhone app.  I can now update all resources (and I did not have to delete and reinstall... which is such a bother, and which I've had to do in the past.).

I do wish that Logos staff had addressed this issue directly rather than let us sit and grow frustrated with the non-functioning update feature.  However, I am very happy that the app is fully functional again.
