Anyone recommend Christian History & Biography Magazine (Issues 1–99)?

I am thinking of purchasing the Christian History & Biography Magazine (Issues 1–99). Does anyone else have this resource, and if so what do you make of it? Is it worth purchasing? Does it contain pictures and illustrations or only text? Do you think it is worth the purchase price? Any other suggestions or comments to offer?

The first half (1-49 I think) has pictures. The second half (50-99) does not; it is just text. It came out when it was released that CH magazine did not have the rights to let Logos put the pictures in the latter issue. I enjoy reading the magazines to broadly fill in the many gaps in my thin knowledge of Church history

Kevin has ably described the presence and lack of images. That is one my disappointments. But you're hard pressed to find a more palatable condensed overview of Church History.

The image question aside, I haven't regretted buying them.

These mags are great...concise and informative. If you have the money to spend, grab them, it's worth it.

I read through them on a 31day reading plan; they are't paginated, so the reading plan is lumpy---usu many short articles and one long "feature."

You have to manually build each issue into a separate plan--Logos doesnt just chain the set.

I've liked the ones I've read, and wish the pictures had been retained--although so far they haven't been vital.

Also,Issue 9 and a handful of the last 20 aren't named consistently...that is why 9 didn't appear above--just remove "biography" as a search term and it will show back up.

Christianity Today keeps the text online for free. (Look on the left hand side of the page for the individual issues by number.) I have been reading it online and using their funky single file pdf format CD.

Their claim to fame is that every magazine issue is limited to a single topic. I like the content. The pdf version is horribly slow to search. On my fast desktop it took several minutes to search for a single term. For study, a Logos version would certainly make research a lot easier as well as being incorporated into your standard searches.
