Using Ipad and Logos4 fro Sermons

I have this crazy idea of using the IPad and Logos

to create sermons and preach using the IPad instead of paper notes. The thought of having everything at my fingers tips

just seem to make sense and seems like it could be a good tool, some purist might object, but it appeals to my add side alot.

I would still use a Bible(not electronic), can not quite get by without it, even though the Bible could be on the Ipad.

Any thoughts on such an idea. Is anyone already doing this--pros and cons, before I purchase an IPad

Well you are really looking at a couple of related but separate things in your idea — which, BTW, would be doable.

One — you want some application on the iPad which could hold your sermon notes and allow you to read from them. There are many notepad type applications for iPad. You would however want something which enabled you to have larger text to view and away to smoothly change pages. Apple's Pages for the iPad could easily fit the bill, also Keynote could be option — but Pages gives you benefit of full word processor plus you could even integrate it with Pages on Mac. Write up and manage sermon notes on Mac and transfer to iPad for sermon delivery. That way you could file and archive documents.

Two — with Logos for iPad you can download books to the iPad to read offline (no Internet connection) to have the resources available. One thing to note however is that on Logos for iPad there is no offline searching available.

So basically you definitely could do it, and it would work well I would think. You should have a look at iPad + Pages/Keynote in Apple store to see if it feels comfortable for you. I would recommend to you though that you do major part of writing/filing of documents on your Mac and then transfer to iPad on the day.
