Hi All,
I was wondering if there is an easy way to export citations to a bibtex format for use in a reference manager? I've had a hunt around the forums and can't find much!
Thanks,
Kenny
In the Collections window, you can create a collection of the books that you want to export (or use an existing collection), and then select "Print/Export..." from the Collections window menu (or just hit Ctrl+P).
In the Print/Export window that appears, make sure Bibliography Only is checked, and then you can select the bibliographic style you want from the menu below the check box. Once it's selected and looks the way you want, click on Text Document under Save as file: in the Export panel on the lower right:
If I understand what you are looking for, try this: Open a New Clippings Document from File Menu. Select the text you want citations from, from within that resource. Right click, and on the right hand side you will see "Add a Clipping to Untitled Clippings". Go ahead and click that, it will add that text into the Clippings file,
If you click on the little '->' at the bottom right of the Clippings document, you can see the Citations, and change the style. Now Go to the top-left of the Clippings (the doc with paper clip picture), and select Print/Export. at the end of that document you should see all your citations in the desired format. You can then export to text file, Word document, print, etc.! If you have to create a file of those citations, just export to a text file, delete the text and just save the citations, and save under any filename and extension you want.
Does that answer what you are looking for?
Thanks Todd and Dominick,
Todd, your way would be ideal except I'm on a mac and the print export option doesn't exist yet! I'll bear that in mind for when it does.
Dominick, thanks your way does also work on the mac window and until there's a way without cretaing clippings I'll use that!
