Launching Logos4 At Computer StartUp

Is there a way to cause Logos4 to not launch when the computer starts up? I've looked in Program Settings and can't find anything, and searches of previous blog entries haven't yielded anything. I would like to be able to control whether the program automatically launches with each start and restart of my computer. Thanks.

Open System Preferences. Under System, click on Accounts

Then, select your account and Login Items. Delete all those that you do not want to open at Startup, and quit System Preferences. Next time you start your computer, L4 should not launch.

Logos 4 program settings does have couple items than can be turned off (reduce amount of stuff for Logos 4 Indexer to do after each start):

* Automatically Download Updates

* Use Internet

With these settings turned off, have option of using commands in Logos 4 to Sync Now, Update Now, Update Resources, etc.

Are you referring to the main Logos application itself or the Logos Indexer which flashes up briefly when the machine starts?

The setting to start Logos Indexer program on machine startup is 'tucked away' in a location not that well known.

In Finder go to folder — [Home - your user account] | Library | LaunchAgents.

There you will find a file named 'com.logos.LogosIndexer.plist', if you move that file out of this folder (do not delete it!) then the Logos Indexer will NOT start at machine startup. Obviously this will mean that indexing will not check and run automatically — including in situations where you might like it running so please be aware. I suspect this would not be a recommended option by Logos.

Actually, moving the file out of the way will just cause it to be recreated next time you start Logos 4, so that won't work. The indexer should still run because Logos 4 looks for the actual Indexer executable within the Logos 4 app bundle. The plist is only there for running at startup.

Someone familiar with property lists or launchctl could probably look at the Plist file and figure out another way not run at startup time.
