Is there any way to "remember" what one has saved as a bookmark?

Yes..open the favorites from the tools menu..the book marks list is at the bottom
So that when you overwrite that bookmark a record is kept?
I don't think so, but you can drag a bookmark into your favorites before you change one of the bookmarks. Or, you could just use Favorites in the first place.
