Any noticeable difference in running Logos4 with 8gb of ram vs 16gb?
Thanks
You are running a 64 bit operating system, right?
I can't imagine that Logos 4 would see any particular increase in performance once you hit 6GB+. In general I would recommend 16GB only for high-load servers, or maybe a computer used for rendering (for engineering, animation, et cetera). Other than that, I would say it's generally overkill. Could be wrong though!
No, as it is still a 32 bit app and is limited to a memory space of 4 GB. It will benefit multi-tasking though!

Dave, Didn't I read somewhere you said it can utilize 4 cores? I have not kept up with processor advancements. Which CPU could best enhance Logos 4 performance without overkill and waste of money? I've seen a couple users have multiple processors (Xeons?) and 16GB RAM? I'd like to enhance performance without throwing money out the window(s) [:D]
Maybe I oughta search the wiki for hardware advice. (I don't keep up to date like I should.)

Quad Core i7 offers fastest performance (especially Sandy Bridge 3.4 GHz - now available for retail purchase, including unlocked version that can be overclocked). When indexing library, Logos 4 can use all 4 cores in Quad Core.

In general, a quad core is best - any of the Intel i7-8xx for desktop or i7-7xx/i7-8xx for notebook. But I'm very satisfied with my new dual-core Notebook i5-460M. The 4 core maximum applies only to Indexing, where currently, L4 will only index 4 resources at a time on quad core or 6 core! It will allocate other threads as needed, but a quad core with hyper-threading will handle those! The 6 core processor is overkill!
Note that L4 will only index 2 resources at a time on dual core!
Dreaming: Logos 4 agnostic executable that can run either 32-bit or 64-bit.
Microsoft describes agnostic - part of migrating 32-bit to 64-bit => http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms973190.aspx
