Why does Passage Guide keep reverting back to default?

I created a custom passage guide and selected several items to be in there.
the items for "Biblical people/places/things" as well as "media resources" keep populating themselves in my "custom" passage guide.
Can anyone tell me why it's doing this?

You are probably not using the guide editor.
i am helping someone else with a related problem in this post , see the instructions for
Editing your Custom Passage Guide
in the post. You would apply step 7 to your Biblical people/places/things AND media resources to remove them from your custom guide.
