I need recommendation resources for Romans.

I have been studying the book of Romans since january last year ,I am now at the end of Romans.I am diving and digging by the grace of God,I need resources which help me to understand more deeply,I prefer Theological resources I have less interest in commentaries.

I don't think I would have interested to order these books, they seem more or less commentaries .I am interested in a deep theological verse by verse explanations I like the systematic theology,but it is for certain chapters.

I am looking forwards to see from any one who knows and read about the resources I am interested.

What are you looking for? Your initial post asked to stay away from commentaries and look for theological works. Rosie suggested works that appear to be mostly theological works. None of her links are commentaries.

I think perhaps you are not clear on the difference between a systematic theology and a commentary.

A systematic theology seeks to understand the whole counsel of God and attempts to explain the various theological topics; it would certainly take into account what Romans has to say but it would look beyond that to the whole of scripture. A verse-by-verse explanation is, by definition, a commentary.

Perhaps if you could rephrase your question we could be more helpful to you. What specific question or questions do you have? What about Romans stokes your curiosity? I'll give you some examples that might help you.

What was Paul's purpose for writing Romans?
How does Romans fit into Paul's theology?
How does Romans fit with Paul's other writings? How is Romans similar or different from his other writing?
What is the significance of a specific passage to theology as a whole?
What are the main contributions of Romans to Christian theology?

Well, I don't know about the books Rosie quoted,I have simply tried to open them, I just viewed it simply.Any way there is an Ethiopian proverb, " one should not build a house for last winter" They were in pre-pub and now they are not, that could not help me much. not even like the books you have mentioned.What I want is a deep explanation in a way that a study Bible does.

One may well not wish to "build a house for last winter" (or fight the last war), but that does not mean that these works are no longer available simply because they are no longer in prepub. What it does mean is that they will now cost you more than previously.

Tes, although I am not sure what you exactly are looking for (one would think you want a good verse by verse commentary, but you say it is not what you want). I think you might look at the Berean course on Romans: Justification by Faith http://www.logos.com/product/8472/romans-justification-by-faith-bsb-level-2 . It is still in the pre-pub and it should be more theological study of Romans than just a technical commentary.

One may well not wish to "build a house for last winter" (or fight the last war), but that does not mean that these works are no longer available simply because they are no longer in prepub. What it does mean is that they will now cost you more than previously.

I also think that you may want something a bit more in the conservative line than I might accept (I do like to have my views challenged). I therefore suggest a slightly older work in the evangelical tradition -- Frederic Godet's 2 vol commentary on Romans.

My dear brothers and sisters, thank you for what you are contributing for me to grow in the knowledge of God,.but something I have to correct, I am not discrediting commentaries, please I am trying to express it in humility,I use daily commentaries, but what I mean is ,I have enough commentaries ,but I want to do some more work without referring commentaries, I believe the books I am looking are some which can help me to understand ,about some parts of the verses which I couldn't understand them, just to give me a push, and highlight, I want to study, I want to add numbers without a calculator ,as much as I can.at last I need the calculator to be sure whether I have done it correctly,but without resources such as I am looking for ,there is no way I am able to understand it, I know the Holy Spirit will help me, but He wants me to work as well. As little as I am ,I know nothing ,I am learning; I am in ABCD,Thank you for kind words.
