4.0b SR-2 (4.10.4.8574)... does any body know what its happening with this version of L4, I was reading this morning Gn 17 and all of sudden my hard drive start to fly then L4 was slow, every time that I was trying scroll down or up it took for ever...

does any body now if an update is coming on this version? \

I don't know for sure if the latest beta will solve your problems or not but Logos Bible Software 4.2a Beta 4 (4.21.4.8941) is significantly faster and more stable. I think the release date for 4.2a should be fairly soon.

I am having the same problem. I have 4.0b SR4 (4.10.4.9457). I have been very patient in waiting for a workable program from Logos for Mac. Actually, several years. I really thought that Logos 4 was going to get me there...but I am sooo frustrated with how slow and resource zapping this program is....I just hate to even open it anymore. Photoshop CS5 runs multiple times faster than Logos 4 on my Macbook Pro with 4GB RAM and a SSD installed!

Anyway...you mention that there is a beta 4.2? Where is that located? How do we download? Is it really faster???

I'm not a mac user but you might also want to search the forums for tips on how to make Logos run optimally. Just like Photoshop and other apps....there are things that work really well, and things that will grind it to a halt....

So just search the mac forums and I think you'll find it.

Apple Support has 64 bit kernel capable list => http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3770

Currently, iMac (early 2008 & newer) and Mac Book Pro (early 2008 & newer) models can use 64 bit kernel, but default to 32 bit for compatibility. Other 64 bit capable Mac's default to 64 bit kernel.

Thanks for your quick response. I have a new imac, but under 64 bit kernel and extensions it says "no". My Kernel version is Darwin 10.6.0.

Easy way to tell if your Mac has 32-bit or 64-bit EFI, is to run the following command in the terminal:
ioreg -l -p IODeviceTree | grep firmware-abi
