Greek lemma searches - "0" results in Greek-English lexicons and dictionaries

I right-click on a word in the NT, select "Lemma - Search all open resources" (with several G-E lexicons "opened"), or even select "Lemma - Search entire library," I get 0 (zero) results from all G-E lexicons / dictionaries. However, if after right-clicking on a word in a passage and selecting "Lemma - Bible Word Study," the "Lemma" section of the BWS report provides a list of all lexicons having the lemma being examined as a heading.

Should I be getting the same result from these resources when I do a lemma search of them directly?

Yes. If you know how to take a screenshot? If so, could you post the search that returns zero so we can catch what's going awry?

Are you right-clicking on a Greek word or are you using an English bible? I don't get any lemma search on right-click. If you are using a morphologically tagged Greek text and have a Greek-English lexicon, all you should need to do is to LEFT-click on the word (twice -- I used to be able to do that with a single-click).

@ George - I'm using the NASB95 (with a rev interlinear). I'm right clicking within the interlinear panel, selecting "Lemma - Search all open resources."

@ MJ - screen shot is below. I have NASB95, BDAG, Louw-Nida, and the Greek Eng Lex of NT opened. A search of all open resources only yield hits from the NASB95. However, a BWS report of the same lemma (ὑπομονή) has all the lexicons and dictionaries that are tagged with that lemma listed:

I'm assuming that you have at least one Greek-English lexicon. Do what you were doing except in the left-hand panel you should have your Greek lexicon listed. Click on the Greek lexicon. It seems that when you click on "Search all open resources" it only searches bibles.

I booted up from a old hard drive that still has Logos 3 on it to duplicate what I was trying to do in Logos 4. Logos 3 will display the results of a speed search (all occurrences) of the lemma (ὑπομονὴ) in all open resources:

@ George - I'll give your suggestion a shot once I get back to L4.

I found that (in this example) changing the phrase in the search box from "<Lemma = lbs/el/ὑπομονή>" to "greek:ὑπομονή " will give the speed search results that one would get when doing similar searches in Logos 3:

A question for Logos 4 developers - why use a phrase like "<Lemma = lbs/el/ὑπομονή>" in the search box when "Search all open resources" or Search entire library" is attempted for a particular lemma. Because it appears, as George indicated, only Bibles are being searched.

In this case a lemma is a specific morphological tag. The syntax "<Lemma = lbs/el/ὑπομονή>" only found Bibles because they are the only resources that have the lemma tag! When you simply searched for the lemma's spelling, well the search engine could find that because now it was searching the surface text and not for a tag.

Does that make sense?

If you just search for ὑπομονή...the you get hits in your bible and your greek lexicons.

Thanks Kevin and Robert. That gives me a better understand of what is actually happening.

When using the "right-click" menus of Bibles that have been lemma tagged, I was expecting to get hits from all open resources or from my entire library when choosing "Lemma - Search all open resources" or "Lemma - Search entire library," respectively - not just Bibles. A similar feature in Logos 3 did a "speed search" of the open resources or entire library, resulting in hits from all resources where the lemma word appeared - commentaries, journals, etc - as well as lemma tagged Bibles. Now I know that to get the same results in Logos 4, I should changed the syntax in the search box to the just the lemma word only.
