New User to Logos 4 Platinum

Hi, I just switched from Wordsearch after a decade and need some help
When I want to do a topical search, I am inundated with a lot of info that I don't need and isn't relevant. It takes me so long to sort through all the searches that its not very helpful
Can someone advise me the best way to do the topical searches that are more helpful and accurate
Thanks
Marco

Marco, welcome to Logos 4 and the learning curve.
Topical searching does not exist in Logos 4 at this point. In the current version under beta testing, there is a way to search on something called Large Text which will help you find the information you are probably looking for more directly. This is still limited because not every resource has large text data that is searchable.
There are some ways to keep from having a flood of results. The best is to organize your resources into collections. With as many books as Platinum has, this is almost a must to limit search results. Collections can be searched instead of the entire Library.
Creating searches with more specifications can also help. You'll need to learn the search terminology to do this.
One place to look for some help is in the wiki and in the video tutorials. Look here:
http://wiki.logos.com/ Tutorials 1-14 are very good.
http://wiki.logos.com/Table_of_Contents__ Look under Searching and under Tools for Collections.
In time I think Logos 4 will have improved topical searching. It is definitely needed.

A Basic Search on Entire Library should give you a Topic section with results from some bible dictionaries; typically for single word topics like healing. It may suggest alternatives to search on and provide results from synonyms, but this depends on what is called Logos Controlled Vocabulary (LCV) which is a database of "topic" names in the dictionaries eg. disease and healing, heal, health.
