Highlight styles are ordered in a palette by the number or letter occupying the first space in the title of the style. Numbers are first and then letters. The priority of numbers over letters also extends to the second space. Editing doesn't change the order once a style is created. If you look at the emphasis markup palette you will notice that it is in alphabetical order. Where you right click in a pallette when you create a new style doesn't affect the order. I recently made highlights involving books of the Bible and could have had them in cannonical order if I had known this. Perhaps someone could add this information to the wiki article on highlighting. Thanks.
