Quick question: I'm having to reinstall L4 after a OS crash. I'm 88% thru downloading 6.61 gb of resources. If I shut down my PC and carry it home, will it resume where it left off?

You will not loose your progress. You can cancel the download and then shut-down your computer.
although if you have enough battery power sleeping the computer might be easier.
