4.2a Beta 5 Indexer crash

Downloaded today's resource updates and the indexer crashed almost immediately.

8103.Logos4 (9).zip

This crash is different from any I recall seeing previously but it seems to have occurred as the indexer was trying to merge the Bible Index supplemental index into the main index.

Looks like you have a supplemental Bible index which you shouldn't have - there were no resources to index so it was trying to correct the situation by merging supplemental with main Bible index.  Check that out, but I would delete the \BibleIndex folder and cause a full reindex.

EDIT: the sequence of events leading to this would be helpful, if you can recall them, because the Logos4.log called the Indexer to fix an issue with the Bible index.

Not much of a sequence. The night before I downloaded some resource updates which included The Greek NT: SBL Edition, The Hebrew Bible: Anderson-Forbes Analyzed Text, The Lexhams Greek-English Interlinear: SBL Edition, two NA26 resources, and NIV (1984). Indexing started after the resources were added, I closed Logos, and let the indexing continue overnight. Next day (the 21st) opened Logos and the Indexer immediately opened and crashed. Of course the initial log file for the Indexer was at this point lost, replaced by the one I uploaded.

I imagine there was a Bible Index created with the download and indexing.

As far as I can tell the Bible Index is OK. I can search any of the downloaded resources without problems.

Here is a snapshot of my BibleIndex folder:

    Here is my LibraryIndex folder:

These indicate a large supplemental Bible Index and just about nothing else. With the new indexing scheme I don't know if this is what I should expect, but am doubtful.

The LibraryIndex also has a supplemental index dating from some time back. There is no evidence of any significant indexing on 1/21.

There should be no supplemental indexes. It appears the bible indexing was performed but the merge did not work and the Library indexing did not start! I would delete the Bible index folder first to allow re-indexing and then repeat for the other if it does not automatically occur!

That's what I thought. Anyway, maybe not until tomorrow, but I'll delete the BibleIndex folder and restart. Thanks for taking a look.
