You need to change your profile settings.

Click edit in the top right.

Then select site options.

Page down to the Activity Message Configuration.

Disable the messages that you do not want to received.

Click save.

It should only email you updates if you have asked to receive them - you can turn them all off in your profile (click Edit next to your name top-right-hand-corner, then Site Options, then scroll down to Email Configuration and choose No.

You can turn emails on and off for single forum threads at the top of each thread (top-right hand corner will say "Email me whe someone replies" or "Stop emailing me ..."

To change the way this forum sends you email

On the top of the forum page is your name and "Edit" and "Sign out"
Click on "Edit." A new page will display.
Click on the "Site Options" above your picture (and to the right of "Profile options")
To receive only certain emails under "Site Options" select "No for "Enable Conversation Notifications" and/or "Enable Comment Notifications." Also scroll down to "Activity Message Configuration" and select the options you want to be notified about.
To receive absolutely no emails, scroll down to "Email Configuration," and choose "No" for all of the options here.

Note: some of these terms are not documented, so I can't tell you what the difference is between "Enable Conversation Notifications" and "Enable Comment Notifications." Nor can I tell you what the stuff in the "Activity Message Configuration" is really about.

I don't let this forum send me any emails. I just visit it regularly instead.

I was drowning for awhile, too. And like you'll have to, I had to change my profile, too.
