I have problem how to read my books. They are already there in my ipad, bit the problem is I don't know how to do ,after I read certain verses ,I try to scroll it ,but I don't see the sequences of the verses, there is one page in the right ,which is quite diffrent book and different verses.Today I tried to book Romans 8:19 I read ,I think about 7 verses .until I was able to scroll it down,I was not able to read the next verses ,because i couldn't find them.I would appreciate if some one could tell me how to I could manage it ,and how I could synchronize the books which I am going to read.

Blessings in Christ.

tap on the right hand of the screen (or on the right hand side of the pane). The books don't scroll up and down like on your computer, but they turn pages like on a book so the right side of the screen turns the page to the right; the left side of the screen turns the page to the left.

Someone correct me if I am wrong, but I don't think you can write notes in the iPad version.  Tes, people are asking for that, and highlighting.  But so far--as much as I know--that is not available yet.

If you swipe down on the screen, it will give you general options - let you navigate the book, access other books, go to library, home, search, etc. If you swipe up, it gives you some contextual options for the verse/passage you are looking at. Swipe left and you go to the next page. Swipe right and you go back a page. Tap and hold down on a word and (in a Bible) it gives you some word study data. In any resource, tap and hold a word to get quick access to a search link.

Using the iPad's built in Notes app? Tap the plus sign at the top right to create a new note. To access all your notes, tap the Notes button at the top left.

The Apple forums are the best able to handle this question. There may be a German version but http://discussions.apple.com/category.jspa?categoryID=267is a place to start.

You know, I don't think there are videos for Logos on the iPad/iPhone. Perhaps someone should put a bug in Mark's ear...

Thank you Chris,I know I am asking silly quetions, but we are brothers in the Lord, how long does it to charge battery? Is there any possibility to link the book I am reading with some other resources ,as in PC?

Sorry, I have jumped to write some words.

    1. Is there a possibility of linking the book I am reading with other resources as we do in Logos 4?
    2. How long does it take to charge battery to the ipad?

I'm not altogether sure what you mean. If you use the split view in the Logos app then you can have two resources display at once and if one is something like a Bible and the other something like a commentary you can link them so they scroll together. Go to your Logos Settings to turn this on.

How long does it take to charge battery to the ipad?

Depends how low the battery was when you started charging it. :) Seriously though, it does depend. Are you charging through the USB port of your computer or are you charging from a wall charger? The wall charger is a lot faster.

Hi, Chris,I haven't charge it . when I bought it ,it was 70% now it is 19%% I think I am going to charge it from a wall charger.Should I wait  , until it reaches to almost 0 or it makes no difference?

No, you don't really need to wait for the iPad. You can see here for a little more info:

    http://www.apple.com/batteries/ipad.html

Me, I pretty much always keep my iPad plugged in. If I'm out somewhere then I rely on the battery. Otherwise it's often either plugged into my computer or a wall outlet.

Chris, I have tried to charge it from my  computer, but it  wouldn't ,so I am charging it now  from the wall it is almost now 4hrs and still it is 85%,is it normal, It was 15% when I have started to charge.

The last 20% takes the longest. When the battery is low, charging times of 4-5 hours are not unusual.

What do you think of the iPad so far?

The ipad has for me a tremendous benefit,I had to carry a heavy bag ,I had to print certain parts of my books ,it was a waste of time ,money and heavy to carry it along my way.I can say I was carrying about 8 kg with other things, but know I have most of my books and I have to carry about 2Kgs with my things. And as I get used to it ,it will be better and better.

Very good. I have found the iPad to be even better than I expected, and this despite the fact that I already had high expectations!

I'm trying to decide whether I need an iPad as well as a Kindle, awaiting my arrival in England next month, and an Acer convertible tablet/notebook, which I ordered yesterday.  I guess the answer is to see how I get on with the Kindle and Tablet.  My idea is that the Tablet will enable me to do everything I want with Logos when travelling, and I can pray with my prayer list on my knee, rather than while I'm sitting at the computer, and that the KIndle will have reading matter and will be my constant companion when waiting in queues, reading in bed, etc.  Converting Logos books will take some time, but it also takes some time to read a book - I don't have to do them all at once!

IPAd:  disadvantage: extravagant cost.  No wireless internet at home.

Advantages as I see it:  can do more with it, can download books easier.  Possibly better for reading in bed.

Anyway, I'm following Tes' experience getting started with iPad with great interest.

I love the iPad and would recommend it to anyone. That said, I'm not sure how much use you would get from it if you have a Kindle and another tablet which could run the full version of Logos 4. The iPad is a slick device that works great, but it's still just iOS so in many ways you are more limited than with a tablet running Windows 7 (however, I'm not sure how well Win 7 would run on a touch device - I've never tried it). Once your Acer comes in, spend some time playing with it then go to an Apple store (or some other store selling the iPad) and play with it some. See if the iPad meets a need not addressed by the Acer.

Thank you, Chris.  That's a helpful suggestion.  I was going to wait to see how I got on with the tablet before deciding about iPad.  Kevin Purcell commented on my question about the Acer as compared to HP, and I decided Acer sounded better for me.  Reviews are basically good.  I think I can return it within a month if I don't like it.  The Acer is convertible, with a keyboard if I want it, but will fold back into a tablet.  I guess it depends largely on how light and handy the Acer is.  Can I use it on the road?  It's about the same price as the iPad.  I need to think and pray about whether this is a useful investment or an extravagance.  Anyway I shall have time to play with it and make up my mind next month, airports and flu permitting.....[;)]

Chris,Would you tell me please, what I have download from apple web.site? Currently I have only downloaded i books. What else can I download, and what is your experience about it?

I think talking about another devices  in the name of window 7 for tablets or any other ,is only theory, I was the one who was in favor of such talks and expectations, but I can understand that, Apple never waits the others ,until.they bit.Apple is showing its potentiality as well, So I am competent with my ipad,I think Logos is working on the ipad to make it  more comfortable. I would like to thank you Chris, you have helped me a lot,God bless you..

There are lots and lots of great apps for the iPad. Here are some that I use the most - you can find them in the App store, the same place you got iBooks

    • Logos, of course.
    • iBooks, the book reader from Apple. App is free, many books cost (though many are also free).
    • Kindle, the book reader from Amazon. I prefer this to iBooks because 1. it has lots more books; 2. the books are almost always cheaper; 3. there are often free deals for great books. I have around 20 books through iBooks but 109 on the Kindle. I do almost all of my reading now through the Kindle app.
    • Pages, this one may not be as useful if you do not use the Pages app on the Mac, but I use Pages for my word processing work.
    • Dropbox, use this to access my files synchronized on Dropbox.
    • Things, a great task manager. Omnifocus is also great, though a bit trickier to use.
    • Twitter, the official Twitter client. A great app.
    • Reeder, the best RSS reader I've ever seen.

There are some others I use a bit, but these are my most common apps (though I didn't mention any of my games!).

Thank you Chris.I want to use 100% free,I have to go to apple store for downloading, since I am not still used to it and as I told you yesterday my computer did not react with  charging batteries ,the apple store is not far from me,you may increase even if  there are more, I don't know if I could start with the information you gave above to be able to navigate, but something I know I have to go through process of learning.

    Blessings in Christ.

I also could use some help in basic maneuvering around screen on iPad.  For example, with the Read icon selected, somehow I've unintentionally ended up with The Fulfilled Family on the left and American Standard Version on the right , a vertical line between the two and no way to 'close' out one of them.  At the bottom of the vertical line appears a semicircle, each half of which only serves to advance the respective pages.   While a tutorial for using the iPad version would be wonderful, could we at least have some basic instruction?  If it's available and I've missed it, please let me know.  It's a delightful portable tool, but not easy to use.  Thanks.

Janis, just grab the line in the place of the semicircle and drag it to the edge of the screen. This is the only way how to "close" that window. When you need the second window you just do the opposite. I hope it helps.

    I would add:

    • Mobile Mouse Pro..great remote control for your computer
    • Clock! Free - my favorite clock app for night.
    • ABContacts - a great contact manager

Then again, these work great on my IPod Touch. I just noticed this was for IPad apps. But I bet they would work well.
