I know that I have a lot of note files, but L4 has taking a very very very long time. While I have over 70 note files, L4 has now been working for over ten hours, and it is still working on note file #3.
Here is the log file: 0412.Logos4.zip
I'm glad you compressed the log! Here's a summary:-
858 notes/14 min in 0 Hymnal - LBW-2
255 notes/58 min in 1 Lectionary Year C
Spent about 9.5 hr trying to import 1599 Geneva Bible Footnotes
Did you sanitise them before importing as advised, as there are a lot of processing messages?
I would save & remove 1599 Geneva Bible Footnotes.lbxnot and import a few at a time.
I got tired of waiting for L4 to import my notes, so I closed the program, turned off the logging, and deleted the notes file (file was 235Meg). I restarted L4, and started the import process again. L4 is moving a lot faster. After an hour, L4 is already working on file #4. After 12 hours, It was about 1/3 of the way through the third file before I closed the program.
Yes I did.
Because I still use L3 for notes, I re-import my notes into L4 once a month.
so I closed the program, turned off the logging, and deleted the notes file
I would be wary of deleting the L4 notes database as it could create a nasty scenario with sync'ing to/from Logos' server, which also might affect the documents index (the document index was recreated a few times).
FYI... I do not sync to Logos because I do not want my data on their servers.
What is strange is that the file that I deleted was 235 Meg. The new notes file is only 139 Meg.
FYI...it only took a couple of hours to import all of my notes (which is normal) once I deleted the old notes file.
FYI(2)...While this might cause a problem with the indexing, I have been getting false positives from my notes for a long time now. (please see http://community.logos.com/forums/t/26343.aspx, and this occurred without my interference.) So I guess that I will continue to get some more false positives when I search in L4.
Yes, I see that now in the log!
Do you normally have logging enabled when importing?
Yes, this needs an explanation.
The best answer that I can give is, "I think so."

I just imported my notes for Feb. This time, I made sure that logging was not enabled when I imported my notes. This time it took the normal amount of time (a little over two hours) to import my notes. Therefore, the extra time for importing notes must have been coming from the logging.
Therefore, the extra time for importing notes must have been coming from the logging.
Very possibly, but I do hope that Logos is investigating this.

I believe the size of the log file is the issue. I do not believe that a log file could reach 60 Meg. I believe they need to start a new log file once the current log file reaches a certain size.
