When I copy using the NIV - NIV1984 comes up - How can I remove the 1984 - I want to keep the citation NIV but remove 1984

It's easier than you might think!

 

1. CTRL+L to open your library.
2. Click the circled (i) for information. 
3. In the Find Box type TYPE:Bible NIV
4. Select the 1984 NIV by clicking anywhere in the line except on the title.
5. In the right hand Pane change the short name to NIV (or whatever you want it to be.)

Hint: You might want to rename the short name of the new NIV to NIV2011
