4.2a Beta 5: Indexer Crash

Unhandled exception: System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

This happened after the following sequence of events:

Received email saying new pre-pub available for download.

Shut down Logos and restarted.

Popup said I had new resource to download, so I chose to download it.

Right clicked on icon saying new resources were ready to add to my library, Restart Logos 4.

Once Logos was started I Alt-tabbed to Library (which had been open already) and clicked Last Updated column to sort.

Received another two emails saying more resources available for download.

After Logos restarted a popup once again told me I had more resources to download, so I clicked to download.

I think this is when the Indexer crashed, or perhaps after a slight pause, or maybe after I'd Alt-tabbed back to the Library and clicked on the topmost item visible in the (now sorted) window and pressed Home to get to the top of the list. I can't remember if I did that latter operation before or after requesting to download the second set of new resources.

The indexer had completed Bible indexing for LLS:EMPHBBL and had started on the Library index when it decided to cancel that in order to manage the download. The crash is related to this state change.

Has the download now completed without problem?

Yes. I had to restart Logos again a couple of times, but now all is now well. Still...this crash shouldn't have happened along the way.

It just happened AGAIN when I installed another product from CD on Libronix and then synced my licenses and tried to download it into Logos 4. As soon as I clicked to download the couple hundred megabytes of new resources (Discipleship Journal), the indexer which was still slogging away from the last new stuff, crashed. This is not good.

It's definitely having problems with state changes; again going from starting to index the Library to managing a download.

I've submitted logs from both crashes to development. Thanks.

Update: Looking in the logs the problem is that a SQLite database got corrupt some how. You should be able to rebuild index to fix this problem. We may not be able to determine how the database became corrupt without more details.
