Bibliotheca Sacra (Vol 32 missing series:”Bibliotheca Sacra”; Vol 74 wrong publisher: should be “Obe

Hi,
I created this entry in Wiki for metadata correction long time ago, and have watched it for a while:
Bibliotheca Sacra (Vol 32 missing series:”Bibliotheca Sacra”; Vol 74 wrong publisher: should be “Oberlin College”)
It is now parked under corrected catagories, However, on my systems, all have the same metadata problem.
- Logos 4.2a Beta 5 (4.21.4.9488) for Win
- Logos 4.2a Beta 5 (4.21.4.9518) for Mac and
- Logos 4.2 SR-2 (4.20.4.8828) for Win
Can some on help me validate, please.

I recently (in the last month) bought Vols. 1-90 and could not get them to download from the cloud (Logos 4.2 SR-2 on Vista). Logos Customer service redirected me to Galaxie who suggested I download the files from their ftp server into a folder and run the "Scan" command on it. This worked and my versions show both problems fixed so it could be that the cloud has not been updated. Tim.

Dominick,
Thank you, at least I finally know that there is something wrong on my end. But, cannot understand? How would I know if I have not asked? I use "series" for my collections, so, I noticed the numbers does not tally.
Logos,
See screenshot below, again how would I know if Logos has corrected it, and it is only my system that is missing the corrected metadata?
I have 5656 Resources + a few more hundred hidden. In L3 after each purchase, I will faithfully add relevant new purchases into my various collections, it was time consuming, but, it works and I just need to do it once. Ironically, now with Dynamic Collection (I like it), I have to redo my collections many times over due to the initial challenges of incomplete/problematic metadata information (I accepted it as a price to pay for better technology). However, in a stable state, if metadata information cannot be trusted on my system, I am really, very concern.
Any advice as to what I can do to ensure that my system has all the current corrected metadata from Logos Cloud.
PS: Should I delete this resource and let it download a new copy from the server, or is there a command to sync up all the metadata information? I am maintaining 3 x Logos 4 versions as mentioned in previous post, and having "fear" of any downloading and indexing exercise (just done one round earlier in the week), each time I have to do 3 times :-(
PS: I also noticed missing metadata on "subject" field to TJLs, is it only me again?

Tim,
Thanks for the insight.
However, I am concern. In the new scheme of things, as a logos 4 user, I have to only trust Logos Resource Repository as the most up-to-date source.
If we all start to use other secondary sources, aren't we running against to whole point of entrusting Logos to maintain the most updated copy.
Just a thought - But, I am still going to download vol 32 and 74 from Galaxie and scan; I remember I reported this to Galaxie on these 2 volumes many months ago and was told it was fixed, and I am waiting for it to filter down.

No, as far as I know there is no command to sync up the metadata. There should be! I have had this problem before, when my metadata does not match what I know is on the Logos servers and what other people have reported is updated on their Logos installations. I think the only way is to wait until they push the metadata for that particular resource again (which could be a long wait), or else uninstall and reinstall Logos completely. I wish there were a simple command to update metadata, though.

Tim,
Thanks once again for the insight. After downloading the 2 volumes above from Galaxie' FTP site ftp://ftp.bible.org under TJL folder. The metadata for both volumes are now fixed (so, you need to download vol 72).
However, about 28 of all the TJL resources, the metadata information for the subject field is still missing. (no big deal, I do not use them, but, more for completeness)
I also note that all the new resources from the recent TJL 13 are all correct (good news - at least we know new resources are updated correctly)
Rosie,
Yes, it would be nice to have the "update metadata" command :-) or at least some other ways to ensure that metadata can be up to date.

DHG,
Welcome to the club :-) you make be feel better, thanks, I thought I am the only one.
Anyway, if you follow the thread above, go to Galaxie, FTP site, download, do a scan of the folder you have your download, wait for a while, quit Logos 4 and restart. At least all the series metadata should be correct after that.
Note that, if like me, you run multiple copies of L4, you just have to repeat this process for each instance. I spent the whole afternoon doing that, yes, it will run supplemental indexing after that.
Well I am happier now, at least I know why (Cloud is not as up to date as Galaxie) and know how (ftp download and scan) to overcome it.
Hope you will have your's resolved too.
PS: If you have download quota or speed constrains, you might just want to download those that you have issue(s) with metadata. That should speed things up a little.

I used a file compare utility that works against ftp sites and found that there are actually 37 Galaxie resources that have been updated, the two we have been discussing in Bibliotheca Sacra, and the rest in Bible and Spade Magazine if you own that.
Here is what my library looks like sorted by update day, so you can see the 37 files (you can see the metadata in the 2 BS resources is fixed):
Here are the 37 file names that were more current on Galaxie's site if that helps:

FYI, my old BSAC Vol 74 had a version of 2010-05-20T22:10:04Z, and the latest off the Galaxie site is version 2010-06-22T23:04:04Z.

Great,
Looks like we all got all our important metadata (series) issue on TJL fixed :-)
