How long does it generally take to download the resources?  My system has been downloading for six hours.

    Hi Alan,

    welcome to the Forum!

the download time depends on your internet speed and the size of your base package, the site below gives you an idea of how large the download might be:

    http://www.logos.com/support/techfaq#size

EDIT: also you might hover your mouse over the icon image in the taskbar. Logos4 will show you the percentage of completion of the download.

    QLinks, Bibl2, LLR, Macros
    Dell Insp 17-5748, i5, 1.7 GHz, 8G RAM, win 8.1

    Hi Alan,

While you're waiting, you might want to watch the first couple of videos in the Logos Tutorial Video series which you'll find here: http://wiki.logos.com/  (of course streaming those videos would slow down the download even more, though, so maybe you'll want to wait until later to watch them; but they are a great way to get to know Logos -- eventually you'll want to watch the whole series, which was done by a very knowledgable Logos user who is an excellent communicator)

If the download really seems to be taking forever and you're not sure anything is happening anymore, you can tell if files are actually still downloading by checking the contents of your Resources folder and see if it's changing every few minutes. You'll find your resources in c:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Logos4\Data\random.folder.name\ResourceManager\Resources. (I can't remember but it might be that they'll temporarily go in the ResourceManager\Downloaded folder and then be moved to Resources once the download is complete; so check both places.)

If it's stuck, you can cancel the download, reboot your machine and start it up again. The download should pick up where it left off. Logos uses BITS which manages the downloads and handles interruptions like that.

It can depend on the speed of your ISP.  It took me, I think, 4 days and 4 nights to download my original L4 Leaders library.  I think Logos suggested 15 hours as a worst case scenario!

A quick way to see if it's continuing to download is to check the % of the download of which the blue icon informs you.
