Word study features

My pc Bible study software had a feature I've been trying to find on Logos for mac. I typed in the word, clicked on the concordance number that was given, and was shown every verse where that Greek or Hebrew word was used. The feature I loved was that it showed the English translation used in each verse. For example, Hebrew word for "rebuke" might be translated as "reprove" or "chasten" in different verses, but all were from the same Hebrew word. Does anyone know if Logos has that feature?

Yes, this feature is included in Logos in various ways. One of the easiest ways to get at it is from a Bible that has reverse interlinear built in: e.g., ESV, NASB95, NIV84 (NT only at the moment), KJV1900, NKJV, NRSV, LEB, NLT (NT only), and a few others. Right-click on a word you're interested in, make sure the "Selection" tab on the right side of the popup menu is selected, then choose Bible Word Study on the left side of the menu. You'll see a word ring like this, which shows you all the Hebrew words that are translated as that English word you chose:
Click on any one of the segments of the ring to expand it out and show all the verses where that Greek or Hebrew word is used (and translated the same way).
You can click on the Hebrew root (see where I've put the red circle in the image above) to run a Word Study on that Hebrew word and find out other ways it is translated in English:

Sherry, welcome to the forum!
Here's another way to do this.
Adjust the search view, if necessary to Aligned. You'll see something like this
Also, if you choose BWS from the right click menu when Lemma is showing on the right side of the menu it will start the word study in Hebrew or Greek without going through the English word study.

Thanks for that, Kevin. I was trying to offer her a way to do that from the Strong's # tab with "Search this resource" but ran into this annoying bug: http://community.logos.com/forums/t/29374.aspx

With how much power Logos puts behind the lemma tag I only provide Strong #s directions upon duress [;)].
Seriously, Sherry it would be well worth your time to leave Strongs behind as much as you can and learn to work with lemmas. There might be some overhead in learning the alphabet but you can do soooo much more in Logos 4 with them.

Thanks so much. I had found the circle, but couldn't figure out how to use it. Sounds like the key is searching the Hebrew or Greek word. I'll try that.

You can also click in the middle of the ring to show all the instances at once.

Wow, so many new things to learn! I'm gonna try this one, too. I'm sure if I can ever figure out what lemma, morph, and other unfamiliar words mean, I'll get the hang of it. Sounds simple the way you presented it. Just kinda hard to teach an old dog new tricks, I guess. lol. Thanks much!

I'll try that, too. You guys are all great. I really appreciate the help. Do any of you know if there are videos for morph and/or lemma info?

Do I have to be reading from the Bible to right click the word? That looks like what's showing in your example. When I go to "search" or "word study" and type in the word, the windows shown in your example don't pop up, so I can't click lemma. What am I doing wrong?

Yes, the example I gave was how to start from reading a Bible that is tagged with Reverse interlinear tagging. If you want to input data directly into the BWS you need to either need to start with an English word then click on the right Greek/Hebrew word like Rosie circled in her post to actually run the word study on a original language word. Or, for more info about launching the study read http://wiki.logos.com/Bible_Word_Study carefully.

There are some videos on morph searching and lemmas and such. Here are a few (see below), but look on http://www.logos.com/videos and http://wiki.logos.com/Logos_4_Video_Tutorials to find more I might have missed (and you'll find all kinds of other helpful videos there).
Hebrew Morphology Search in Reverse Interlinear
There's also this DVD set which is a very thorough course in how to use all the language features in Logos and learn enough of the languages to be able to get the most out of what Logos can do for you:
