One question & one observation

When I purchased books, I change the setting for the use of the internet from no to yes so that I can download the books.  I just purchased some books, and I changed the setting so I could download them.  This time, I got sidetrack and left L4 up and running all night long.

Question: who can I email to have my data deleted from the cloud's servers?

Observation: I noticed that I made the mistake by how slow my computer was running.  After correcting this issue, I check the logs.  I noticed that L4 was uploading 100 records at a time, and it average of 3 minutes (the upload times ranged from 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 minutes) for this upload.  At that rate (one record taking just under two seconds to process and upload), it would have taken a day and a half to upload all of my stuff.  This is a very slow process.  Especially, if you consider that my document folder is only 200 Meg in size (mainly from my notes), and from the fact that I basically did not have any data on the servers.  I hope that this subsystem is improved for those who use it.  I could not use L4 if it was always syncing.

    I would email support@logos.com and if that's not the right department they should be able to route your email to the person who can delete your data from the servers.

    Tom, I am not sure of what you mean by uploading records. Do you mean lines in your log file referring to SyncManager? Could you give us a screen shot of the offending activity? Taking three minutes to sync over and over again does not seem like normal activity. Normally I never have long sync times even when the program opens.

    I do not believe that L4 is uploading the same record over and over again.  I believe that it is taking a long time to upload each record.  Here are four lines

    2011-02-01 16:20:06.9250 12 Info SyncManager (Timed) Uploading 100 items.
    2011-02-01 16:20:15.0280 12 Info SyncManager SUCCESS - { Notes, urn:uuid:857deefb-935f-4cf8-94f4-eb2c569823de, , True }

    2011-02-01 16:22:17.3080 12 Info SyncManager (2m 10.5s) Uploading 100 items.

     According to the log file, I have over 350,000 records.  If L4 uploads 100 records at a time, It will upload 3,500 sets of 100 records.  If it only takes two minutes to upload a set (I have noticed that the avg is closer to 3 minutes), it will take 1,750 minutes (29 hours) to upload all of the sets.

    Thanks for the additional information. Are these note files? Does it tell you what these 350,000 records are? Would you attach the log file so we can take a look?

    Yes, they note files (99.85% of them are), and yes I have that many notes.  I do not believe that their is a 'bug;' just that sync is very inefficient.

    The next time I download books I will upload my log.

    I recall some recent comments that the sync framework is be revamped to make it more efficient. Of course there may be server bandwidth limits also slowing things down. We have no way of know that w/o Logos telling us.
