Snow Day

It's a snow day - any chance of talking LOGOS into a sale? Just an idea.

No snow day here, just an ice day. Does that get a bigger discount, before the power goes out. So I can read until batteries run dry, then resort to hard back books, with reading by candle light. [:)]

Now, now, Brother Floyd........one should not boast. Actually, I'm just jealous. [:'(] What a treat it was to drive into Philadelphia today. Not!
Hey, perhaps we could encourage Logos to have a Snow Day/Driving to Philadelphia in another Winter storm sale!
Blessings!

Logos should have a couple of weather buffs on staff to keep track of snow storms - then they could offer snow specials just to those in the area affected by the storm - you get your storm today - we get your storm tomorrow..... [st]

Logos offered massive Winter Solstice (aka Christmas) sales.
Also searching Logos library for snow NEAR day finds many results, including logosres:flshofthght;ref=Page.pp_56-57;off=1371
109. Christ Crucified, the Everlasting Father
LOOK yonder at Christ on the cross! He did that day light such a candle as never can be put out. He is “the everlasting Father.” He set rolling that day as it were a snow-flake of truth as he died upon the cross; and you know what the snow-flake does upon the high Alps; a bird’s wing perhaps sets it rolling, and it gathers another and another and another, till, as it descends, it becomes a mass of snow; and by-and-by, as it leaps from crag to crag, it grows greater and greater and greater, until ponderous masses of ice and snow cohere together, and at the last, with an awful thundering crash the avalanche rolls down, fills the valley, and sweeps all before it; even so this Everlasting Father on the cross set in motion a mighty force which has gone on swelling and increasing, gathering to be a ponderous mass of a mighty teaching, and the day shall come when, like an irresistible avalanche it shall fall upon the palaces of the Vatican and upon the towers of Rome, when the mosques of Mahomet and the temples of the gods shall be crushed beneath its stupendous weight, and the Everlasting Father shall have done the deed.

Nope - I am in the same boat as you. Upstate New York will be hit tomorrow. On the other hand, I'll take a sale when I can get it.

I'm all for a 70° in January sale. We had that yesterday. The high was 38 Saturday, 70 Sunday, and 45 today. If you don't like the weather here, wait a couple of hours.
I like a little snow, but 4-1/2 feet is insane. [8-|]

Kansas City is getting blasted. The snow (re) started at 6 this morning and I would guess we're at 4 to 5 inches at this point. ....If I hear the phrase "arctic blast" one more time!

I'll take a sunny day discount! I read your posts and I'm sure glad I live in the Sunshine state, I mean, "The Promise Land" LOL
Alright, don't freeze to death, I'll go get a tan now and sport my new speedo...[;)]...just kidding. It's in the 70's now, but due to the cold whether up north the water is still cold and the wind is kind of chilly. So even in the Spring the water is kind of cold for my taste. But again, don't think about the cold, just think hot chocolate and cookies to warm you up! [:)]

Here it does not snow when it is cold - cold is sunny - it warms up and clouds over to snow..... [st]

Just in case we lose power my laptop is all charged. I've even got an adapter for my vehicle when that runs out. So I'm all set for the snow.

Very cool! Made me look it up and read the whole sermon. Every time I do that with Spurgeon I am simply amazed at the breadth, depth, and sheer length of the sermons he preached. I had a mentor in ministry who once said "sermonettes are for Christianettes." No one could accuse old Chuck of building a church of christianettes!

I'm about eight hours away from being hit by the biggest cyclone to strike Australia since 1918. A cyclone slightly stronger than Hurricane Katrina....
Just filling in the hours until the power goes off.....
Could fill in that time with a cyclone sale....

I could go for that as well. Take care of yourself and those you are responsible for. I will be praying for you.

Wow, Damian. I'll be praying for your safety. Post a follow-up here once the power is back on, to let us know you made it through in one piece.

Damian, let God protect you and keep you and all of you in the area.

Power's still on.. Though we had a flicker about ten minutes ago. Still four hours till the eye passes over.
The last forecast map has placed the crossing a little further north - though, we're still in line for 300 km/hr winds (185 miles/hour)
Things are starting to get a bit blowy now - when it does begin to pass, it will take three to four hours.
as you can see, the worst is just about to arrive....
The prayers are much appreciated and certainly not in vain.....

Praying for you, Damian, and all Queenslanders at this time (10.00 am GMT) – that people will be kept safe. Praying, too, for people in the emergency services.
Every blessing

Did you see the other thread ("Damian") in which we received word that he is well, though without power. Bob received an email and shared it with us.
