Is there a way to run separate installations?

I teach Logos at a Bible College. I would like to participate in the BETA but I need to keep a standard installation for in class demo purposes. Here is my question. I run the Windows version of L4 in Parallels. If I create a second install of Parallels and a second install of L4 can I set the second install to the BETA? I am wondering if they sync will it change both installs to the BETA stream.

People have successfully run both installations, but there are risks. As long as you keep the stable installation on its default channel (stable), it won't become the beta version on you. But beware that the beta can include non-backward compatible changes (so syncing stuff between Beta and Stable has potential to cause issues in Stable release).

And take special note of "There is also a risk that a beta version will corrupt your documents (such as notes, collections, favorites, shortcuts, etc.), and that this corruption could sync to your stable version. It’s therefore wise to back up your documents (especially if you have lots of notes) before installing any beta version."

Yes - could use 2 virtual machines on Mac (aka Parallels) - also could add User account in Windows since Logos 4 is installed per user. Third option is installing Logos 4.2a Beta for Mac (only missing Handouts feature on PC); Logos 4.2a Beta 6 release notes look great for Mac - known printing issues appear to be resolved (looking forward to release soon). On one Mac, could have Mac Beta along with PC Beta and PC Stable versions (if hard drive partitioned, could have Mac Beta installed in one partition and Mac Stable installed in a different partition) - does need disk space to have many installations of Logos 4 and adequate memory to use installation(s) at same time. Good idea to only index one installation at a time.

Sync does not change update channel. Have program settings option to turn off "Use Internet" - manually choose when to sync (click circling arrows or use Sync Now command).

I run both L4 Win Beta via Parallels and L4 Mac Beta on my Mac Pro. I also run L4 Mac Stable on my MBP. I have only had a few minor incidents (duplicate notes) between the two beta versions. These were all caused by having both open at the same time.
