Logos might sell one at that price. Incredible!
I thought I had ordered that early too. Do you know when you placed your order?
I just looked at "The Greater Men and Women of the Bible (6 vols.)" and it is selling for $199.95. I ordered it for $9.00. That price difference was a surprise. http://www.logos.com/product/6383/the-greater-men-and-women-of-the-bible
The price may drop during some Christmas sale - it just shows to show what a great value Community Pricing really is.
I was just getting to post the same thing. A savings of over 95%!! Community Pricing is Amazing!
How do you like it, BTW?
Got the great deal too! Love Love LOVE Community Pricing!!!
I got it for $9.00 too.. woohoo!! I love that community pricing. [:D]
They even got the price fixed on Butler's Analytical Expositor (Hebrews - Revelation), something I saw there was a lot of heated debates and complaints about.
Now, concerning Greater Men and Women of the Bible...wow! Will I be using that a lot! Looks like a great resource and YES the price really jumped, so I'm sure glad I got it for $9 bucks too. Makes you appreciate the "Community Pricing Program."
Blessings!
Douglas
The product page on Logos.com for "Greater Men and Women" says it should be available on iDevices.
I haven't been able to see these new books in Biblia.com, Library.Logos.com, nor on the iPad.
Will they be available soon?
Thanks,
Peter

You have to wait up to a week for new releases to be transferred and indexed on the mobile content servers.
Yeah, T&T Clark is not known for great discounts . . . so getting the set for $9.00 is a great deal. Thanks, Community Pricing!!
The set looks good . . . I'm just really disappointed to see that 6 volumes organized by Name of each Biblical person are NOT TOPICALLY INDEXED by each of those names. That really minimizes the functionality of the set.
The whole point of getting the resource is to be able to quickly find articles on the people of interest when doing research, right? I can't imagine why a new Logos resource organized by topic would not be released already Indexed by Topic as well.
Shouldn't ALL new resources be indexed in the same way they are organized? I believe ALL Versified books should be indexed accordingly and ALL Topically-organized resources should be indexed by Topic to facilitate speedy research.
Doesn't that make sense?
I am very happy that I got in on thia deal, but this is another example in a long list of examples, of why I believe Logos has too high of a mark-up on their public domain books.
For us that got in on the community pricing deal, what a great buy, but for a new logos buyer that comes along in a week or two from now... I feel sorry for them!
Plain and simple, look at the size of that mark-up on this set and explain to the new person that price is not too 'high, maybe you can, but I certainly can't.
In Christ,
Jim VanSchoonhoven

I agree with your comment David. I do not see how this was left out.
I must agree with you. When I use the Biblical Persons tool this resource needs to be listed! I will forget that I own it and it will then be sorta useless.
I can't imagine why a new Logos resource organized by topic would not be released already Indexed by Topic as well.
This was an oversight. We'll have an update with headword indexing out shortly. This will allow navigation and lookup by headword.

Biblical People relies on the Logos Controlled Vocabulary database (which is a longer-term, library-wide project) rather than just tagging or indexing within the resource. We're still dealing with a backlog of existing resources that need to be incorporated into LCV, but we're hoping to be caught up with new resource production later this year. (See http://wiki.logos.com/About_Topic_Search for more information about LCV.)
Thanks for your patience.

This is good news. Thanks [Y]
Seeing as how patience is coming up as a sermon topic I'll be preaching....OK...I can wait :-)
This prompt attention is why we pay the big bucks.....er $9. :-)
By the way, why don't we pay tax on community pricing resources? Is it because they are public domain?
By the way, why don't we pay tax
SHHHHHHHHHH !!!!! [:#]
Welcome back, Abi! I have missed your dry humor.
Good to hear from you too. Hope all is well. [:)]
Thanks for your well wishes and same to you. Snow, snow and more snow here in Michigan! Fun days.
a few more bids and you get this one real cheap too: Morris Jastrow Near Eastern Studies Collection (5 vols.)
I had skipped this one because I didn't think it contained much that would interest me, but I just took a closer look and saw this title, and I'd pay $15 just for this one book (and it would still be cheaper than buying it on Amazon) so yeah, I'm in!
Morris Jastrow’s controversial Zionism and the Future of Palestine was published in 1919, and its ominous predictions of violence have become a reality in our current world affairs. Arguing against the creation of a Jewish state, Jastrow felt that equal rights for those of the Jewish faith should be the goal in the already existing Palestinian territory. Defining the differences between religious, economic, and political Zionism, it is the third of these tenets that Jastrow feared would lead to the region’s instability. This Semitic opposition to the creation of a Jewish state is a unique and fascinating perspective on this ongoing and contentious debate.

Rosie, you've intrigued me. I've thrown my hat in for this one. Now, if I can just remember why when it's finished [:)]
Rosie,
I am in for the other books too. Since the Babylonian religion will be the endtime religion according to Revelation, his other books on babylonian religion will be interesting too.
I just took a closer look
OK, Rosie... I give--and am in. [:)]
so yeah, I'm in!
As penance for quoting you out of context in another thread, I followed your recommendation and placed my bid. [8-|]

And downloaded. Thank you for the prompt response!

Perhaps, to L4 but are they coming/needed for Libronix?
EDIT: technically, this should have been a new thread in Libronix, but I am, admittedly, taking advantage of the opportunity here and now.

Louis! Peace to you! *smile* And Joy in the Lord!
Thanks so much for your (and Logos') due care and diligence.
Received the updated and corrected files smoothly! Truly appreciated!
Sorry to bring this thread back to the original topic... but do we know we'll see "Greater M&W" on our mobile devices (iOS)?

It's a public domain work so there is no copyright holder standing in the way. It should only be a short time before its available online and in iOS.
Greater Men and Women is now available on iOS
Re: Jim's comment on the wild markup... Logos is willing to cut a deal if you contact them personally on books... not in every case but it's worth the email or phone call.
SO glad to see the English Headwords have been added to this series. That should make it a much more useful resource in our studies and research. Thanks for getting that updated!!
